2020 Golden Globes Fashion: Hits and Misses!

Hi guys! How long has it been since I've done a celebrity fashion post? So long! This is a light-hearted look at celebrity styling at the recent Globes, not to be taken too seriously. I know I'm not a fashion critic, I'm a celebrity-loving gal sitting on her couch with a bag of popcorn and lot of opinions. With all the devastating bushfires currently burning across Australia, it can get overwhelming and depressing, so this is a fun one, an escape for a couple of minutes. What was your favourite lewk? Let me know in the comments!

Hits

Jennifer Lopez

I love this dress so much! It's bold, it's weird, it's basically J.Lo wrapped up as a late Christmas present, plus it features gold, what's not to love?

Sienna Miller

I don't even care that this is a bit casual for the GG's, it's sexy, fun and the fabric colours are cheerful and beautiful. If only a piece of string would hold my bewbs up!

Helen Mirren

This dress is perfect for her, is all class and, as an added bonus, looks comfy as!

Dakota Fanning

Dakota Fanning in Dior.  Image: Getty Images

This is such a dreamy look and perfectly suits her, right down to the colour of this lovely dress. I can even look past the puffy sleeves which, unfortunately, were a theme of the night.

Scarlett Johansson

Now this is a dress! Cut and colour on point, I love it!

Renee Zellweger

Although plain, this is classic and elegant and the streamlined look is perfect for her.

Nicole Kidman

All the yes with this red number! What an absolutely gorgeous frock.

Ana de Armas

Ana de Armas in Ralph & Russo  Image: Getty Images

I had to Google who she was (she was in the movie KNIVES OUT, which is brilliant by the way) but this sparkly dress is stunning! It's such a 'wow' look and is my fave dress from the night!

Misses

Gwyneth Paltrow

I don't like a single thing about this except for her body, which is admittedly, probably the point of the dress (or lack thereof) in the first place. The colour is horrific and it seems like a desperate scream for attention. Just no.

Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton. Image: Getty Images

I actually really like this dress except for the weird blue thing on her shoulder which ruins the whole thing. It's just strange and wrong and shouldn't be there? Otherwise, on point.

Charlize Theron

This look is elegant AF and she obviously looks stunning but the colour of this is giving me Kermit vibes and not in a good way. The black bustier bit is hot though!

Cate Blanchett

I hate the puffy sleeves on this thing, and also what is that weird straight bit going up the middle of her chest? I am confused.

Jodie Comer

A more flattering angle + lighting   Image: Getty Images

Oh boy, where to start with this look. The sleeves, again, are crazy (I'm really not understanding the puffy sleeve trend?) and the cut of this dress is ugly and unflattering.

I'm Too Confused To Know If It's Good Or Bad

Lucy Boynton

I mean it's not good is it. But is it 50 Shades of Wrong? I don't know. It's just so confronting on the old eyeballs. I can't even.

Anna Paquin

I actually like this busy dress but it seems all wrong for the Golden Globes. So I don't know! Brain cannot compute.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift in Etro.  Image: Getty Images

I have literally looked at her dress for ten minutes and I'm still up in the air? I do love her makeup though, such a great change from her usual red lip!

Zoe Kravitz

I both like this and don't? The pattern clash is kind of assaulting my eyes and yet she looks fabulous nonetheless haha.

Margot Robbie

Again, I like her outfit, but it seems a bit casual for the Globes, although the pretty bodice is snazzy. It's snazual. Haha.

Wordless Wednesday: Oz Comic-Con!

I'm actually going to do something outrageous and keep the words to a minimum on a Wordless Wednesday post for once... I know, what? Suffice to say, we went to Oz Comic-Con on the weekend and had a geeky good time. Here are the pics!

That's a pretty good Chewbacca!

I didn't ask why Mr 9 was half-squatting. Some things are best left a mystery!

Brent Spiner, who played Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation!

Sucker Punch cosplay!

He kept this pose for long after I'd taken the photo. Strangers were laughing :D

It's Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Or Melissa Joan Hart.

<3 you too, Deadpool

I know this is pretend, but I still don't like guns

Arthur Darvill aka Rory from Doctor Who!

Best Dressed at the 2015 People's Choice Awards!

The 2015 People's Choice Awards were recently held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The event was hosted by Allison Janney and Anna Faris from the TV series Mom, and some of the winners were:

* Jennifer Lawrence (Favourite Movie Actress and Favourite Action Movie Actress)
* Robert Downey Jr. (Favourite Movie Actor)
* 22 Jump Street (Favourite Comedic Movie)
* The Fault In Our Stars (Favourite Dramatic Movie)
* The Big Bang Theory (Favourite TV Show and Favourite Network TV Comedy)
* Betty White (Favourite TV Icon)
* Taylor Swift (Favourite Female Artist, Favourite Pop Artist and her song 'Shake It Off' won Favourite Song)

The fashion was interesting! I've picked out my favourites from the night, and here they are!

Portia de Rossi
Portia de Rossi wore a colbalt blue jumpsuit by Zuhair Murad that copped a bit of flak, but I like this look! It's eye-catching and the colour is gorgeous. I also love her asymmetrical haircut, but then Portia has always had enviable hair!

Sarah Hyland
The Modern Family actress wore this beautiful Christian Siriano dress that was sparkly, sexy, semi-see-through, strapless and stunning! Her tanned skin and beautiful makeup perfectly finished the look.

Melissa McCarthy
Melissa has lost a fair bit of weight recently, and she looked absolutely gorgeous in this flattering black suit. I love the jacket with the trimming. I'm not sure who designed this, but it's a fabulous look for her. In related news, Melissa will be launching her own plus-size fashion line this year. I'm such a fan of this talented, hilarious woman!

Allison Janney
I'd kill to look this fabulous at 55! The 6 foot actress stunned in this sparkly silver, sequinned Rani Zakhem number. Being co-host, she did wear a total of five outfits on the night, but this was my favourite. What a killer figure!

Stana Katic
The Castle actress wore a black Carolina Herrera ball gown with little flowers on it. Aaah, so pretty! She's accessorising with her People's Choice Award for Favourite Crime Drama TV Actress!

Matt Bomer
The ridiculously goodlooking White Collar actor won the Favourite Cable TV Actor Award. He's wearing some kind of suit. I don't care what it is, I just wanted to put these pictures here.

Celebrity Fashion Round-Up!

I haven't done a celebrity fashion post for ages, so here goes. What follows is the good, the bad and the downright perplexing. Enjoy!

PERFECTION
Lucy Hale (from TV's Pretty Little Liars) at the CMA's. I'm loving this gorgeous red dress from the Romona Keveza Fall 2014 collection. It's a simple, yet beautiful look. And her makeup is perfect.

WHAT EVEN?
Anne Hathaway at the New York premiere of Interstellar, in a Rodarte something or other. Is this good? Bad? Hideous? Interesting? Confusing? I can't even form a thought on it. What do you think?

CURTAINS
Nicole Kidman with husband Keith Urban at the CMA's in a white Roberto Cavalli dress. Just wanted to put this here because the lace curtains in my lounge room look exactly like this.

YOU GLOW GIRL
Kate Hudson looking all sun-kissed, blonde and glowy in a shiny blush-coloured Gucci dress at the LACMA Gala honouring my favourite Director, Quentin Tarantino. Oh my!

Photo credit: WENN, Fame/Flynet via Celebitchy

HAHAHAHAHA
Kim Kardashian at a Hairfinity launch in London in a rather ill-fitting coat that is just weird and huge and completely wrong. She has the girls out, as usual, but the ridiculous art smock steals the spotlight.

OH MY GOD
Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty, The Tree of Life), also at the New York premiere of Interstellar, elegant in a stunning black Prada gown. Wow. I love this! And again, outstanding makeup.

What's your favourite look?

Are you serious, Jessica Biel?

Welcome to another round of dodgy celebrity fashion, peppered with a few lovely outfits, just to keep you on your toes (and ease the eye bleed). Let me know your favourite in the comments below, or the one that had you laughing the hardest.

Diane Kruger
She's wearing Jason Wu at the opening of Jaeger-LeCoultre's new Paris boutique.
I love this. Diane rarely screws up fashion-wise. She's also mega-thin, so she can wear anything. The strappy shoes look kind of odd because the heels disappear into the black background, but I'm sure they were super-sexy just like her outfit. Plus she gets bonus points for dating Joshua Jackson (Pacey from Dawson's Creek!).

Lindsay Lohan
She's wearing Donna Dashini at the Liz & Dick Los Angeles premiere.
Where to start? The positive - the red hair is a major improvement over her usual fake bleached blonde look. The negative - everything else. This dress is cheap-looking and McWhore-ish. Although the cut-out diamond-shaped windows with the red beads hanging down would scream class on the set of a porn flick, bitch needs to step it up a notch for an LA premiere.

Rihanna
She's wearing Damir Doma at her Unapologetic album launch in New York.
This is a black oversized leather shorts and top combo. If you had Rihanna's bangin' body would you wear something as unflattering as this? I mean, she still manages to make it look kind of OK if you tilt your head to the right, close your left eye and zoom your face past real quick. But otherwise, Unapologetic girl needs to start apologising for this fashion faux pas.

Jennifer Lawrence
She's wearing Dior at the Silver Linings Playbook Los Angeles premiere.
Loving this little black dress, it's sexy, simple and stunning, with the belt adding a touch of glamour. Jennifer has such an amazing body, it's hard to believe she has actually been called fat. This dress shows off her killer legs perfectly.

Jessica Biel
She's wearing Oscar de la Renta at the Hitchcock premiere in New York.
What. The. Fuck!? I'm pretty sure she's taking the piss. She has to be, right? This is 17 kinds of octogenarian hideousness, and I can only hope they are making a Golden Girls movie, she's snagged a part as Blanche and is trying to get into character.

Scarlett Johansson
She's wearing Rodarte at the Hitchcock premiere in New York.
This is an odd, mismatched kind of dress, but it comes off as funky and unusual and doesn't look too bad. Anything was going to look good after the silver Biel thing.

Celebrity Fashion: Pop Star Edition!

Katy Perry at the Los Angeles premiere of her movie 'Part Of Me' in a red Dolce & Gabbana dress, still rocking the purple hair. Blue, purple, any bets on what colour's next?

Ke$ha at the 26th Genesis Awards, looking like she has no feet, in an interesting lightning bolt motif outfit. I say interesting but I mean hideous. The side of her head is shaved, too. That's always flattering.

J.Lo in a sparkly bodysuit during her current tour. Yes, it's a stage costume but surely you can have SOME class? Although, if my vagina could produce a Glittery Spider Monster, I'd be doing a song and dance, too.

Miley Cyrus looking fantastic in a black Zimmerman cut-out dress at the Australians In Film Awards & Benefit Dinner in LA with her now-fiance, Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth.

Avril Lavigne in God Knows What That Is. What I do know is that this starry/stripey abomination is wrong on so many levels. I'd totally rock those slutty-looking shoes though!
