Priceline Haul!

Hi guys! So I might have done a spur of the moment Priceline Haul last week! I had wanted to try some different volume hair products, and then I saw the Priceline email advertising half price haircare plus double points for one day only, so I took it as a sign and put in an order, lol. How good are sales? I'm so happy with the amount I saved.

Here's what I got!

HASK Biotin Boost Thickening Shampoo (RRP $17, bought for $8.50)
This is my holy grail shampoo and the only one I ever buy. I usually like to wait until it goes on special though, because it's quite pricey. Yes I consider $17 pricey for a shampoo! I love the results I get and that one shampoo gets all the product out. Before I discovered this thickening shampoo I was using a clarifying shampoo followed by a volumizing shampoo, but no need for two washes with this one.

HASK Biotin Dry Shampoo (RRP $12, bought for $6)
Because I love the HASK Biotin shampoo and conditioner it makes sense to try out the dry shampoo from the range, especially since it's half price. It contains biotin for volume, collagen to fortify and coffee to help boost, which I'm hoping together give a nice plumping, volumizing lift from the roots. I'm an absolute dry shampoo fiend, so it was inevitable that I'd try this eventually.

HASK Biotin Boost Thickening 5-in-1 Leave In Spray (RRP $17, bought for $8.50)
Can you tell I'm a fan of HASK? I'm so keen to try this one as I was looking for a product I could spray in that would give my hair some body and va-va-voom action! Let's hope this does the trick. It's actually crazy how many volume hair products I use, basically every product I own is designed to create body in some way or another. That's how fine my hair is!

John Frieda Volume Lift Thickening Spray (RRP $20.99 bought for $10.49)
John Frieda products have failed me in the past, but I'm going to give them another go with this volume lift thickening spray. Surely one of these products has to work, right? There was no way I was paying full price for something I'm iffy on, so a half price sale is the perfect time to try it out. It was either this or the JF Volume Lift Fine To Full Blow Out Spray Styler but that had a bad review so I went with the thickening spray. Wish me luck!

Thin Lizzy Age Reverse Undereye Treatment Concealer (RRP $34.99, bought for $20.99)
I thought I paid full price for this on Sunday (I know I paid $20.99) but Priceline now have Thin Lizzy products at 40% off and the RRP is listed as $34.99, so I must be wrong? How confusing. Anyway I love my Thin Lizzy Concealer Creme, it really covers everything, so I wanted to give this undereye treatment concealer a go. I got the shade Enchanted Rose.

I hope you enjoyed my haul! Have a great week, guys!

Bellabox 'Beauty Snap' July Box!

Hi guys! Recently I was sent a Bellabox, which is very exciting! Despite my interest in YouTube 'unboxing' videos and reading blog posts about beauty boxes, I've never subscribed to any of these services myself. I think the last time I received a Bellabox was many years ago, so I was keen to get this baby open and see what it contained!

This is the July 2019 Box, called 'Beauty Snap'. Inside the blue spotty Bellabox, there's a product card detailing the contents, plus an ingredients card which is helpful for those with allergies, a preference for natural products or just those of us who are curious! You can also visit the Bellabox website for more information on the products included in your box. Let's have a look inside!

Contents
~ Luna By Luna Eyeshadow in Miracle (1.5g)
~ Coco & Eve Like A Virgin Coconut & Fig Hair Masque (38ml)
~ Liar Wrinkle Cheater Eye Roller (12ml)
~ Model Co Highlighting Shimmer Whip in Champagne (7ml)
~ Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask (10ml)
~ Plunketts Nutri-Synergy Intensive Working Hands (4g)

I'm loving the range of products in this box. There's makeup and skincare and even a haircare product, so there's enough variety to please most beauty lovers. Apart from the single use face mask and the sachet of hand moisturiser (a bonus product in this box), the remaining products are a generous size, and will take quite some time to use up. The Luna By Luna eyeshadow and Liar Wrinkle Cheater eye serum are in fact full sized products!

I'm really impressed with the Luna By Luna eyeshadow, especially since I've never heard of the brand! It's soft, smooth and easy to work with, blending out well. It's very pigmented too and can be built up for a more intense look. I'm loving it all over the lid with winged liner for when I don't have time to apply five different shades! {cruelty-free and gluten-free}

The Coco & Eve Like A Virgin Coconut & Fig Hair Masque smells ah-mazing! It's enriched with raw virgin coconut from Bali and fig essence. Having fine, thin hair that goes limp quite easily I was concerned this would smooth my hair into non-existence, but I needn't have worried. It resulted in smooth, soft, nourished, healthy looking hair, but not a lack of volume. I still used my root-lifting spray and volume mousse as well as volume dry shampoo at the roots, because my stupid hair needs all this just to look decent, but I had added shine and extra hydration as a bonus! {cruelty-free, gluten-free, sulphate and paraben-free, vegan}

The Liar Wrinkle Cheater Eye Serum comes in a handy eye roller and is 100% natural, containing Hyoxinol to boost cell renewal, Hyaluronic Acid to deeply hydrate and copper to heal and smooth the skin. I love that the roller ball cools upon application as this is always a lovely feeling. The formula is a thin clear serum which absorbs easily. I haven't noticed that much of a difference in terms of wrinkle reduction yet, but will continue using it and see what happens. {cruelty-free, vegan, safe to use whilst pregnant and breastfeeding}

The Model Co Highlighting Shimmer Whip really surprised me! I'm not usually a fan of cream highlights, normally opting for powder highlighters, but this shimmer whip is really pretty and super flattering! It applies and blends well and can be built up for more of a pop of radiance if that's what you desire. I also applied a tiny bit down the bridge of my nose and on my cupid's bow for that finishing touch to my look. I enjoyed getting my glow on with this Champagne shade!

I'm always eager to try more products from the Yes To range, and I much prefer these types of masks over the increasingly popular sheet masks. The Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask contains 96% natural ingredients including charcoal to draw out impurities, salicylic acid to treat and prevent acne breakouts and a botanical blend of tomato, watermelon and pumpkin to condition the skin. The consistency of this mask is super thick, so much so that it was difficult getting it out of the packet and applying it to the skin! I could also feel it sitting heavily on my face. However it was worth the effort, because I experienced tighter pores, more even skin tone and brighter skin. Overall a vast improvement!

I love the John Plunkett Cosmeceuticals range of skincare! One of my favourite ever eye creams is the John Plunkett Collagen Eye Lift Firming Eye Cream which I've blogged about here so I was keen to try the Plunkett's NS Intensive Working Hands cream from their Nutri-Synergy range. This is an intensive repair treatment that provides relief for dry, cracked skin, rough patches, sensitive skin and frequently washed hands. I found it to be hydrating, nourishing and great to smooth out dry skin on my cuticles. A really lovely hand cream which I also enjoy using on my elbows!

May - June Beauty Faves!

Hi guys! It's time to tell you about the products I've been loving lately. And for those wondering, yes I do need to blog about my May Movie Challenge (30 Netflix Movies In 30 Days Challenge) so you all know how I did, that's the next post on my agenda! Back to the faves - do you love any of these? Let me know what's currently rocking your world in the comments below, I'd love to know!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue Concealer
I've recently rediscovered this in my collection and I'm so glad! I was actually getting it confused with the similarly-named Rimmel Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Skin Brightening Concealer (I'm not a fan of it), which is why I neglected this baby. I've been using it under my eyes to cover my dark circles and it's really effective, and actually giving me better results than the Revlon Photoready Colour-Correcting Pen for dark spots. I still have to use my Bobbi Brown Corrector as well, because that's how bad my dark circles are, but it's nothing a solid month of 10-12 hours sleep every night won't fix, hahaaa.

Sportsgirl Pout About It Lipstick in Nurture
I'm forever searching for my Holy Grail nude lipstick, and I think I'm pretty close with this product! Shade-wise I can't fault it, it's exactly what I'm looking for in terms of a my-lips-but-better, flattering for my skin tone shade. Texture wise, I love the creamy formula; it's easy to wear, comfortable on the lips and not at all drying. It wears pretty well too, although you do need to re-apply after eating, as you'd expect with this type of lipstick. Another plus is the magnetic close packaging. I'll definitely be buying a back up of this and expecting it to be discontinued imminently, as with most things I love!

Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish in Unwine'd*
I am seriously in love with this shade and think it might be my favourite deep red ever. It's sexy and sultry, flattering and suits my skin tone perfectly. It's one of those confidence-boosting shades that just makes you feel incredible when you're wearing it. It looks great in photos and I'll often apply it if I know there will be a close-up on my hand in a shot. Added bonus; it's from the Sally Hansen Color Therapy range, which means it's treating your nails as you wear it. It's a win win! I've blogged about this and more shades in the Sally Hansen Color Therapy range which you can read about here.

Aveda Thickening Tonic
I got this in a BeautyHeaven Beautorium, so it feels like it's free even though I paid postage, haha. I feel like Aveda is a high quality brand, and definitely want to look at the rest of their range. This Thickening Tonic is so great on my fine locks. It really gives me great volume from the roots without that awful crunchy result many supermarket volume boosters will give you. I'm a little bit scared to look at how much this costs for when I need to replace this bottle, because I have a feeling it will cost a pretty penny!

Mario Badescu Anti-Aging Regimen Kit
This Kit contains:
~ Glycolic Foaming Cleanser
~ Glycolic Acid Toner
~ Collagen Moisturizer
~ Super Collagen Mask
~ Glycolic Eye Cream (bonus)

This is a great Kit that has allowed me to trial five products from Mario Badescu's Anti-Aging range. The only one I'm yet to try is the Super Collagen Mask, as I've just been too busy. I'm seriously impressed with the rest of the products though, and the only downfall is that I'm now going to have to buy some full-sized versions! After only about three days I started noticing my skin looking smoother, firmer and more refined. The Toner and Moisturizer are my favourites as they leave my skin glowing and looking bright and healthy. I feel like my skin is way less textured and my complexion overall looks so much better than before. I'm so glad I bought this and as I say, I'll definitely be re-purchasing the full size of at least the toner and moisturizer.

November Beauty Empties!

Hi guys! It's time for another beauty empties post. I think I may have absentmindedly thrown out a few things (oops!) so this probably isn't everything. Also, I definitely need a good house clean up, because these were located all over the place. I envy those of you who are super organised!

Batiste Dry Shampoo (Rose Gold)
I really liked the fragrance of this one and would definitely get it again. The floral packaging design is super pretty too and I do like looking at cute products that look good in the bathroom!

Batiste Dry Shampoo Plus (Heavenly Volume)
I'm definitely going to keep buying this one as it's specifically formulated to impart extra volume, which my hair needs. Not as pretty to look at, but meets the needs of my hair type better than the Rose Gold version.

3 x Maybelline Masterliners
Hands down my favourite everyday eyeliner, of course I will continue to buy them, and have already done so (I like having at least two back-ups in the cupboard). I'm not sure that I used all three of these last month, but that's how many I found! You can usually get them half price at Chemist Warehouse or stock up when Priceline are having a makeup sale.

L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Shampoo
I've already bought my next bottle, as I love this stuff. I really hope it's not discontinued as I believe the Fibralogy Thickening Serum has been. Give a girl a break, L'Oreal!

Hair Recipe Strawberry & Mint Cleanse Shampoo
I love using this as a first cleanse to get rid of any build up of product, before going in with the above-mentioned Fibralogy thickening shampoo. I tried some different deep clean type clarifying shampoos but nothing really worked until I tried this one. Again, I get it when Priceline is having a half price haircare sale!

Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Solution
I won a trio of mini Bioderma micellar waters and aren't they just the cutest thing ever? These are the best micellar waters I've tried and the only negative is that the bottle isn't bigger!

Oh Deer Sugar Use Your Melon Shower Moose
This watermelon and lime shower mousse was amazing! I love these fragrances and the Oh Deer Sugar mooses (spelled that way on purpose!) are definitely Holy Grail products for me. I love the whipped texture and they're so much fun to use. I'm currently using a Banana and Vanilla Milkshake one from the same line. You can read my mini-review of the Oh Deer Sugar Rose & Passionfruit Shower Moose here.

Lime Crime Glitter Helper
I'm throwing this out because unfortunately it has gone off. I didn't get that much use out of it either! Oh well.

Revlon Photoready Colour Correcting Pen
I love love love this product and have already replaced it during the recent Priceline cosmetics sale. It's perfect for hiding my dark circles and the formula smooths on effortlessly and blends like a dream.

Priceline 50% Off HairCare Haul

Hi guys! Super quick post today, just outlining what I got in the 50% Off HairCare Priceline Sale last week! My main goal with these sales is to stock up on my staple products, because there's no better time to buy them, but I have to say, I occasionally throw caution to the wind and use the opportunity to try something new. How do you shop the half price sales?

Products Bought
~ Schwarzkopf Super Styling Lacquer
~ 2 x Batiste XXL Volume Spray (could only fit one in the photo)!
~ Hair Recipe Strawberry & Mint Cleanse Shampoo
~ L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Shampoo
~ L'Oreal Preference Hair Colour in Light Rose Gold

The Schwarzkopf hairspray and Batiste volume sprays are both staples in my haircare routine, so I had to snap them up. I love using the Hair Recipe cleanse shampoo as a first shampoo to remove any built-up product, before going in with a volume shampoo. I've gone back to the Fibralogy thickening shampoo but I've got a horrible feeling it's being discontinued (which always happens with my favourite finds!). The reason I think this is because my quest to buy the accompanying L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Serum was quite a difficult one! Everywhere I looked didn't stock it and the other products from the Fibralogy range were getting low too. I eventually found one serum at a supermarket, but I don't like my chances of picking it up again. The two Pricelines I went to didn't have it, and their Fibralogy shampoo and conditioner stock was super low. And lastly, I bought a new Preference hair colour. My roots are dark at the moment, so I'm going to have to lighten everything up first or this just won't work. I'm interested to see what rose gold comes out like though!

May Empties!

Hi guys! A short and sweet empties post from me today. I only finished seven products last month, but then as soon as we went into June, the empties started piling up, so next month's post will feature a lot more products. In the meantime, here's everything I completed in May.

Batiste Stylist XXL Volume Spray
This is still not as good as my favourite Batiste XXL Volume Dry Shampoo (that they discontinued - boo!) but I'm learning to like it more I guess. I'm settling. I'm still pissed off that I can no longer buy the best volumising dry shampoo I had found on the market though. Can you tell?

Hask Coconut Oil Nourishing Shine Hair Oil
I wish this wasn't so hard to find because I flat out love it! The coconutty fragrance immediately transports me to a tropical island/white sand/blue water/laying on the beach/sipping cocktails type sitch, and it makes my hair look healthy as well. I couldn't find it in-store to repurchase, so I'm trying the Argan Oil Healing Shine one (featured in this Priceline 50% Off Haircare Haul post) instead!

Clinique Youth Surge Age Decelerating Moisturiser
This was a little sample pot that still managed to take me forever to finish. It was nice enough but I've got other moisturisers to get through, so I won't be buying it.

Oh Deer Sugar (Oh) Candy Cane Mint & Coconut Body Scrub
I actually won this in a Giveaway two Christmases ago (eek!) so I thought I better get a wriggle on and use it up! I wasn't a huge fan unfortunately, despite loving most Oh Deer Sugar products. I find their dry scrubs quite harsh on the skin, and much prefer the softer, gentler formula of the Soda Pop creamy scrubs. It did smell minty and fresh though!

Oh Deer Sugar (Oh) Confetti Fawn Jellybean & Popping Candy Shower Moose
The Oh Deer Sugar shower mooses (moose, deer, get it??) are my most favourite line from this brand! I adore the creamy, whipped formula and they are an absolute delight to use. I did enjoy Confetti Fawn but I won't repurchase as I want to try all the fragrance varieties in the range. You can read my thoughts on the lovely fruity Peachy Keen one and the Rose & Passionfruit one in my March Favourites and September Favourites blog posts respectively.

L'Occitane Divine Eye Balm
The L'Occitane store at Westfield Marion was handing out these samples as I was passing by so I thought I'd try them. I haven't tried much from this brand (maybe a hand cream?), and I have a particular interest in eye creams, however I couldn't really form much of an opinion from this tiny sample. The product was fairly thick and moisturising, as you'd expect from a balm.

L'Occitane Divine Eyes
This is a much lighter formula than the Eye Balm and was nice enough, but again I couldn't really test it properly from the sachet sample, as it just lasted a few goes. A good way to make my expensive eye creams last longer, via the use of free samples in the interim though?

So I didn't finish up that many products last month, but blogging about them has inspired me to try harder and I think I'll aim to write an Empties post every month. That way I can actually bin my finished products instead of hanging on to them for a blog post I never end up writing!

HAUL: Priceline 50% Off Haircare!

Hi guys! I haven't blogged in nearly two weeks but I'm back! Truth be told, my March Movie Challenge damn near killed me! It took up so much time and I was sleep deprived to the max during March. Blog post on my results to come, but for now I want to share my haircare haul from last week's Priceline 50% off sale. I went in for one thing, dry shampoo, and came out with a bunch more! But when the total is only $29 and I saved myself a heap on products I'll definitely use, I'm not bothered. Let's see what I got!

Batiste Stylist XXL Volume Spray
I am so on the fence about this product! Batiste recently discontinued my favourite dry shampoo, their XXL Volume one, and replaced it with this. I really need a dry shampoo that will give my fine hair maximum volume; this does give great volume, but it's not a dry shampoo. It's apparently a 'backcomb spray' designed to 'oomph your locks'. However, the build-up from this spray is an absolute Bitch, and as a result I bought the....

Hair Recipe Strawberry & Mint Cleanse Shampoo
I put a call out on my Insta Stories for a great clarifying shampoo to combat product build up, and one helpful person (I can't recall who) suggested this fruity sounding baby. This is meant to 'detox your scalp and hair for a fresh clean feel' and I seriously hope it manages to get all the product out of my tresses, because it sucks to get out of the shower then notice your hair isn't properly clean. It was quite expensive, so I'm glad it was half price!

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Super Styling Lacquer
I love this stuff and buy it all the time! It's my go-to hairspray and basically never lets me down!

I've nearly finished this Hask Coconut Oil tube

Hask Argan Oil Healing Shine Hair Treatment
I was a bit bummed that Priceline had such a limited range of these little tubes of wonder to be honest! I've nearly finished my Coconut Oil one (pictured above) and really wanted to try a few different oils from the range, but had to settle on the Argan Oil variety. I'll see how I go with it!

Garnier Fructis Full & Luscious Shampoo
This contains volumising Fibra-cylane and Pomegranate and promises to thicken hair. I've been using shampoo and conditioner from my beauty cupboard for what seems like years, and haven't had to actually buy any new products, so I've actually forgotten which volumising shampoos I like! I'm going to have to start all over again trying them out lol. Fun times!

Dominate Fiber
This is a styling paste that gives a high hold textured look and thickens with caffeine and yes, it's for men! I didn't see that until I got home, as I was rushing in-store because the husband was waiting for me. I basically saw that this purports to provide a thickening boost, and would be ideal for scrunching a small amount into either the length of my hair or ponytail to hold a volumised wave style in place for longer. I've already tried this out and like it!

REVIEW: Tropical Edition Peony Parcel!

Hi guys! I was lucky enough to win this beautiful Peony Parcel prize from The Life Of Laura, which happens to be the Tropical Edition. As soon as I opened the stylish black and gold box, I was hit with the most delicious scent! These products smell amazing! I was blown away by my first ever Peony Parcel experience. The box design is chic, with 'Hello Gorgeous' and 'enjoy me time' written on the front of the box in gold, giving a feminine touch.

The green leaf design printed wrapping paper is so cute, and the products themselves are of such a high quality. There isn't a single dud in this Peony Parcel, and if they are all this good, I'm seriously considering signing up! I'm so happy to have received the tropical edition, for that scent family is so my thing! Let's have a look at the contents!

Little Balm Matcha Natural Body Scrub
This cute little pot contains a grainy, dark green body scrub that smells like coconut! Little Balm is an Aussie small batch company that makes 100% natural skincare. This delicious-smelling scrub contains certified organic raw sugar, virgin coconut oil, Fair Trade green tea leaves and matcha powder. It's quite scrubby, I love the coconutty smell and it left my skin soft, smooth and moisturised due to the coconut oil.

Soapmaid Ocean Edition Artisan Mini Natural Soap
This delicious-smelling soap is my kind of product! It's natural and contains a lower layer of organic kelp flakes and has super-pretty golden Epsom Salts across the top! Other ingredients include olive, coconut, rice bran and avocado oils, cocoa butter and organic shea butter. This froths to a light blue medium lather and really does transport you to a tropical island with its ocean breeze fragrance. I didn't want to stop using it!

The Soak Life Tahitian Gardenia Tropical Glow Body Oil
Who doesn't love a good multi-tasker? This fragrant oil can be used on damp or dry skin to nourish and add moisture, or you can rub it into the ends of your hair for some extra TLC. The ingredients in this glow-inducing hydrator sound amazing! There's a delicious blend of tropical oils including coconut, watermelon, kukui nut, passionfruit and shea. Also in the mix are antioxidants, fatty acids and vitamins A, C and E. How ACE!

Sticks & Stones Candle Co Floral Pink Watermelon Wax Melt
You can't get any more Summery than watermelon! This wax melt is so pretty with its pink hue, and organic pink and red rose petal and glitter topping, and the watermelon scent is delicious! This jumbo-sized soy wax melt is meant to last at least 35 hours, and you simply place it into a melt burner or electric warmer to use. I don't have either of these at the moment, so I haven't started burning mine yet, but I can't wait to!

Lux Aestiva Endless Summer Hair Hydrator
I never get around to treating my hair to masks, so I'm really glad this was included in the Peony Parcel! This hydrator works to moisturise, repair and strengthen hair, as well as protect it from heat, seal in moisture, prevent damage and encourage growth. Whoa! All those things sound fabulous; if this delivers I may have found a multitasking favourite. Fingers crossed!

Cocobetty Coconut Oil Wipes
I've tried these before, having received a sample in a Good Green Box (reviewed here), so this is a product I'm familiar with. These makeup remover wipes are a great fit for a Tropical-themed box, with their coconut scent, which reminds me of an island paradise or a chocolate Bounty bar! The wipes deposit quite a bit of oil on the face and remove nearly all of my makeup. These are great if you want a change from your ordinary makeup wipes!

Sash Cosmetics Luminous Lipstick
I was so excited to receive a full-size Sash Cosmetics lipstick in my box! This is a makeup brand I'd heard of but never tried before. The black and gold packaging is luxe and stylish, and the click top opening method reminds me of high end brands. My shade is Last Dance, which is described as a dusty mid-toned pink mauve nude. The creamy formula is a delight to wear and although its a matte finish, this feels really comfortable on the lips. I'm impressed!

Rose Gold Hairbrush
I must be going crazy, but there's no information about this stylish detangling hairbrush in the The Tropical Edition information book and there's no label on the product, so I don't know what brand this brush is, or in fact, have any details on it! It kind of reminds me of a Tangle Teezer though, but with a longer handle and longer bristles. It's easy to hold and use and I love the shiny rose gold finish!

A few other things of note...
~ included also is a comprehensive The Tropical Edition booklet which extensively details all the products inside, with brand information, social media contacts and even an interview with Lifestyle Blogger Mim (from Love From Mim) to read!
~ the black Peony Parcel box itself is sturdy and stylish and can be re-used to store skincare, makeup or any other items you can think of!
~ I love how there's a pink hue running through this box. Everything is so pretty and girly, and I think they've done a brilliant job of compiling the goodies to match in colour as well as scent family!

Well, I'm thrilled with my first Peony Parcel and I'm sure I'll be able to use all the contents! Thanks once again to The Life Of Laura and Peony Parcel for the Giveaway, and a big congrats to me for being the lucky winner! Hahaha.

REVIEW: Weleda KIDS 2in1 Shampoo & Body Wash*

Hi guys! Today I want to tell you about a new range from Weleda, designed especially for kids, the Weleda KIDS 2in1 Shampoo & Body Wash*! I was kindly sent the Happy Orange fragrance for my 10 year old son to try, and he's loving it. To be honest, it's a bit of a struggle to get him into the shower, so anything that's going to make the cleaning and hair-washing process easier gets the tick of approval from me!

I love that this is a multi-tasking product, because that cuts down on time and effort, and just quietly, the barrage of questions being yelled out from the bathroom. "What do I do next?", "Which shampoo do I use?", "Should I use conditioner now?". Kids can use this to wash their bodies and their hair; one tube = less confusion, more speed and less questions for Mum. It's a win win!

We received the Happy Orange fragrance. This is a beautiful citrus scent that's uplifting, refreshing and zingy-smelling (it doesn't make your body tingle though, thank goodness!). I'm really glad we got orange because my son is a big fan and I've always preferred citrus scents over most others. Tangy orange essential oil has been blended with vanilla to create this fruity, happy scent. Alternate fragrances in the KIDS 2in1 Shampoo & Body Wash range are Lively Lime and Very Vanilla. In a world full of gender stereotyping, Weleda have strived to make this range gender-neutral, with their coloured packaging and cute animal-themed design featuring pictures of hippos, dolphins and seals that will appeal equally to boys and girls.

The wash is NATRUE-certified natural, cruelty free, vegan-friendly and free from mineral oils, silicones, artificial preservatives and harsh synthetic detergents. The detergents used in this KIDS range are biodegradable, plant-based and made from fermented sugar and coconut oil. Organic sesame oil helps to preserve the skin's natural moisture balance, since it's rich in vitamin E and unsaturated fatty acids.

The formula is lovely and creamy and perfect for kids. Weleda have used carefully formulated ingredients specifically for kids, as their skin tends to be dry with an underdeveloped barrier function before the age of puberty. I actually can't think of anything negative about this product, which is always a good sign! In Mr 10's own words, he described this Weleda product thusly: "the smell of it is really, really good, like an orange lollipop". Hehe.

This is something I'd recommend if you have kids and are after something that's easy to use, multitasking, and smells nice. It may even make your kids enjoy shower/bath-time more!

Weleda KIDS 2in1 Shampoo & Body Wash is RRP$14.95 and available from David Jones, selected health stores, pharmacies and from Weleda's online store.

Priceline HairCare Gift Bag!

Priceline are currently running their HairCare Gift Bag offer, and it's on until the 23rd of February, or while stocks last! Basically, if you spend at least $49 on any of the participating haircare brands (online or in-store), you get a free HairCare Gift Bag, filled with products worth over $260! Even better, all the participating brands are on sale, so you're saving while you buy as well.

Here are the participating haircare brands:

Essano ~ Batiste ~ Hask ~ Viviscal ~ Revlon ~ Anumi ~ Cedel ~ Colour Addict ~ OGX ~ Schwarzkopf ~ John Frieda ~ Biosilk ~ Pro:Voke ~ Garnier ~ L'Oreal ~ Pantene ~ Models Prefer ~ Scunci ~ Colab ~ Marc Anthony ~ Brite

I wasn't going to take up this offer (much like with their recent 40% Off Skincare sale; you can see what I bought in that promotion here lol) but once I saw Batiste was one of the participating brands, I knew I might as well, because I go through dry shampoo like a drag queen goes through false lashes. If I'm going to be buying it anyway, I might as well get it discounted and with a free gift bag of goodies!

Here's what I bought to qualify for the bag, and guys, I'm not entirely sure I got enough dry shampoo?

~ Schwarzkopf Super Styling Lacquer (Maximum Hold) 400g
~ Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume 400ml
~ Batiste Dry Shampoo Plus Heavenly Volume 200ml (x 2)
~ Batiste Dry Shampoo Cherry 200ml

As for the Gift Bag, I didn't get time to check out the contents before my purchase, because I had Mr. 9 with me and he was bored beyond belief, so the best solution was to use him as a human calculator to reach my $49 (he loves maths, so this was a genius move on my part, haha) and hope that he didn't start complaining. So I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and saw the contents.

I feel as though this bag is geared towards blondes (which I am) with the Pro:Voke Touch of Silver Shampoo and Conditioner and the super-fun Schwarzkopf Live Colour Pastels in Cotton Candy Pink, perfect for blonde hair! Unfortunately my Brite Masque was Tea Tree + Mint for Strengthening instead of the Blackcurrant for Blonde Hair pictured on the Bag. I'm that one freak that loves the smell of Tea Tree though, so I'm by no means displeased with the alternate Masque inclusion.

I'm also happy with the full size Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Densifying Shampoo and the Garnier Fructis Full & Luscious Volume Booster Texturising Spray, as I always welcome products designed to inject volume into my fine hair.

There were also various vouchers to redeem for products and some for discounts off products, all with short redeeming dates, so I must remember to get in-store soon if I want to use any of them (not pictured, because I forgot).

The mini dry shampoos will come in handy for travelling, and all up, I'm happy with everything except the Colour Addict Spray In Hair Chalk, because I got BLUE. Not a nice, light pastel blue, but hardcore Marge Simpson blue. Haha, you can't win them all!

Don't forget to enter my Valentine's Day Beauty Giveaway on Facebook, it ends 22 February at midnight!

New Lush Haircare for Volume!*

I was so excited to receive a box of new Lush haircare goodies tailored to suit my fine hair recently! You've probably read about my hair issues, and my ongoing attempts to inject much-needed volume into my flat tresses. Well Lush have released a bunch of new products for a range of different hair concerns, and I was sent the following products to review; Jersey Bounce Shampoo, The Plumps Solid Conditioner, Sea Spray Hair Mist and Mr Dandy's Hair Candy Hair Dressing. Here's what I think of them!

Lush Jersey Bounce shampoo and The Plumps solid conditioner

Jersey Bounce Shampoo*

'Is it time for your hair to bounce back? This free range egg, linseed and sea salt shampoo is sure to get your locks into the swing of things.'

Like a lot of Lush products, this is interesting to use. When I first smelled it, I was a little taken aback, because honestly it didn't smell great to me in the pot, but this somehow didn't translate to my hair (thankfully!). After using Jersey Bounce my hair actually smelled nicer than normal, so good luck if you can work that out! This has a gloopy, gel-like consistency which is strangely addictive. The formula contains gritty bits of coarse sea salt, much like Lush Big Shampoo. I really like the thicker-than-supermarket-shampoo texture, and I must say, it foams up quite impressively. It helps to add some more water after you've massaged in Jersey Bounce; I found that this made the product spread all the way through to the ends a lot easier. I'm really impressed with how healthy my hair looks after using this! It's soft and shiny and appears more nourished than usual. I get the same amount of volume with Jersey Bounce as I do with my regular volume shampoos. My only quibble with this product is the packaging design. Because it's in a pot, it's a bit difficult to unscrew the lid (especially with wet hands), juggle the pot and the lid, scoop out the right amount, rub it in your hair and replace the lid all without dropping the pot or product down the drain. The chunky bits wouldn't really facilitate a squeeze bottle design though, so it's all good. I just have to improve my shampooing skills. Jersey Bounce is mineral-rich and contains honey, linseed, fresh organic lemon juice, sea salt and Fair Trade olive oil.

My hair after using Jersey Bounce shampoo and The Plumps solid conditioner

The Plumps Solid Conditioner*

'If you fancy high-flying hair with plenty of texture, it's high time you treated yourself to this well-rounded blend of sea salt, cedarwood and honey. The sandalwood fragrance may be grounding for the mind, but volumising sea salt speaks volumes about how your hair will feel afterwards.'

I really like this pretty pink solid bar of conditioner and I'm finding it well suits my hair type and particular issues. Case in point; conditioner is something I have to use very sparingly, and usually nowhere near the roots, otherwise my hair will be weighed down and appear lank and lifeless. I normally leave conditioner in for a split second, but that's tricky to do with liquid conditioner, as it tends to spread everywhere fast. This bar is ideal for quickly gliding over my head, and as such a small amount comes off with each stroke, I can easily control how much product gets into my hair. The instructions say to work the bar between your hands before applying a small amount, but I honestly prefer briefly rubbing the bar on my scone instead. The Plumps leaves my hair conditioned but not overcoated with product. Another problem I have is that my hair gets really tangly, even straight after washing it. Every day I have to use a Tangle Teezer to combat this problem. I found that The Plumps did such a good job of softening and conditioning that my tresses were actually easy to comb through, with minimal tangles! I'm definitely considering purchasing this once my current bar runs out.

Lush Sea Spray and Mr Dandy's Hair Candy

Sea Spray Hair Mist*

'There's a sea mist rolling in - but this one leaves you fresh, uplifted and perfumed. A salty spritz that gives body, volume and hold.'

Years ago I used to use salt sprays to add volume, but as my hair has gotten flatter over time, I upped the ante and switched to volume sprays, which seemed to work better. So I was cautious about reverting to salt spray, thinking it may not be hardcore enough for my needs. What I've been doing with Lush Sea Spray is spritzing it on the lengths and scrunching it in. I've found that because this product contains a light hair gel, I do initially get some volume and hold, but the body is falling out of my style pretty quickly. This is a common problem for me though, with most products I try. I will most probably go back to my Davroe Styling Voluminous Spray* as it gives me longer-lasting volume, but I do like the earthy fragrance of the Lush hair mist, provided by neroli and grapefruit essential oils. The product also contains sea water, sea salt, seaweed and glycerine.

It's rhyme time with Mr Dandy's Hair Candy

Mr Dandy's Hair Candy Hair Dressing*

'Who can take thin hair, structure it with cream, scrunch it to add volume and nourish like a dream? The candy man can.'

This is a product that you can use a number of different ways, which is good I guess, because we all differ in the way we like to style our hair. The directions state you can 'try it wet, dry or before a blowdry'. It's as if everything Lush says about this one has to rhyme. It is Mr Dandy's Hair Candy after all. For me, this was the most intimidating product, for being a cream texture, it was the most likely to weigh down my hair and make it super limp. No need to tell me that a little goes a long way, I'm already on that shizz. I chose to apply to my dry hair then scrunch like a mofo, a styling action I'm extremely familiar with. I could have put it in wet hair then blowdried but the directions make it clear to use the cold setting and I honestly don't even think I have one? So dry hair it was! Results? Well as mentioned, I used a tiny amount and rubbed it between my hands, then scrunched into the lengths of my hair. I did get bigger hair, there was noticably more volume and my hair remained soft and didn't go crunchy. However this stuff is sticky. It goes in sticky and leaves your hands sticky, so they'll need a good wash afterwards. I was worried that when I intermittantly re-scrunched my hair throughout the day (as I tend to do in the hopes of building more volume or re-gaining the body I've lost) that I'd get sticky hands, but it didn't happen! My hair was soft to touch and didn't feel sticky. I quite like this dressing, but I think the most important lesson is to use a very small amount. This contains fibre-rich bananas for hold, PVP (what now?), oakmoss absolute and rosewood for fragrance and numerous oils including Cypress, lime, almond, organic jojoba, brazil nut and organic extra virgin olive oil.
