What's In My Good Green Box?

Hi guys! I recently received the Good Green Box prize I won in their Instagram giveaway towards the end of last year, and thought I'd run through what was inside! It's always exciting opening up a box when you don't know the contents, and I was pleasantly surprised with the natural beauty products and samples in this edition, despite the lack of an information sheet about the products included. Let's have a look!

Wotnot Facial Wipes for Normal/Sensitive Skin
This pack of 5 wipes will certainly come in handy as I seem to go through wipes like nobody's business! They contain certified organic aloe vera, rosehip and sweet almond oils and are free from drying chemicals. I've tried these before as they came in the March Good Box (read my thoughts on that here) and love their effectiveness and lovely fragrance.

3/F/B Rose Tonic Facial Astringent
I haven't heard of this brand, so hopefully I've typed it correctly as there's no info sheet and it's not on the Good Green Box website! Anyway this product excites me as I've just finished the Akhal Organic Rose Hydrolat from the July Good Green Box and absolutely loved it! I imagine this is similar, being a facial astringent with a rose scent. Can't wait to start this little bottle!

Springfields Lavender Soothing Facial Cream
This comes in quite a luxe-looking brown glass jar and is a fairly generous size, however the scent is quite subtle. Lavender is normally one of those overpowering scents for me, so it's probably good that this has a mild fragrance. Lavender is thought to help you sleep, so I imagine this would be great to pop on before bed.

Fresh Face Skin Mystery Product
Hello mystery product! This is literally a white plastic tub that says Fresh Face Skin on the lid and that's it, no further labelling. Nor is it on the Good Green Box website under any of the Skincare sections. I just Googled and Fresh Face Skin is the brand name and they seem to mainly sell overnight healing creams, so that might be what this is. Who knows!

Black Chicken Axilla Deodorant Paste
This 100% natural deodorant paste contains shea butter, coconut oil and camelia tea oil and the essentials oils of peppermint, cajaput, mandarin, clove, rose, geranium, lime, lavender and cedarwood. I'm not the biggest fan of natural deodorants, but I'll always give something a go. And this does smell quite pleasant!

Pukka Matcha Green Teabags
I received two Pukka teabags from the Matcha Green range, one Clean and one Supreme. The clean one is described as 'a fresh burst of pure organic green tea with a luscious lemony lift', whilst the supreme version is 'a vital wellspring of organic whole leaf green tea and the finest matcha.' Lord knows I drink too much coffee, so I can't wait to get some healthy green tea into me!

Bondi Wash Hand Cream and Body Lotion
I love the designs on the front of theses sample sachets! The Tasmanian Pepper & Lavender Hand Cream uses Australian plant-based botanicals to naturally soothe your hands, and the Sydney Peppermint & Rosemary Body Lotion blends all-natural active botanicals with Australian Flame Tree for soft, moisturised skin. I will be doing a February Sample Challenge, so I'm saving up all my sachets to go hell for leather next month and see how many I can use up. Stay tuned  for a blog post on that!

July Good Green Box!*

Oh hi! I was so excited to receive the July Good Green Box* recently, tear it open and see what was inside! This one was full to the brim and bursting with natural goodies, with some very interesting products thrown into the mix. The contents are worth over $78, which is such great value! This includes two generous full sized products plus five other samples. Let's take a look!

Contents
Akhal Organic Rose Hydrolat (100 ml)
Siberian Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil Extract (100 g)
Atlas Argan 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil (5 ml)
Natura Siberica Siberian Ginseng Eye Cream-Gel (6 ml sachet)
Natura Siberica Rhodiola Rosea Day Cream (6 ml sachet)
Vapour Organic Beauty Halo Illuminator (sample pot)
Cocobetty Coconut Wipes (1 wipe)

As always there's a handy What's In The Box? card that details the box inclusions on one side and the product's key ingredients on the other. First up is a generous 100ml bottle of Akhal Organic Rose Hydrolat. This product is a dry skin quencher and hydrator, which is perfect for Winter! The distillate is extracted from rose blooms picked by the indigenous women of Morocco and the product is 100% natural, organic and vegan. This Hydrolat is water-like and absorbs quickly, leaving my skin soft and toned. I absolutely love the gentle rosy floral scent and I'm really enjoying using this!

Honestly I'm slightly confused regarding the Siberian Sea Buckthorn Berry Oil Extract, as both my information card and the website list the product as Siberian Cedar Nut Oil with Cedar Soft Resin Extract. Apparently it's a natural antiseptic and an efficient immune modulator that restores the body's energy and you're supposed to inhale it. However the Berry Oil packaging implies ingesting it and basically I'm so glad there's a thick information guide in the box, because I'll be needing to do my research! I'm saving the Natura Siberica eye and day cream sample sachets for a later date because I'm concentrating on using my Project Pan skincare at the moment, but I'm still so excited to see Natura Siberica products in this box, as it's a brand I love!

The Atlas Argan 100% Pure Organic Argan Oil is a great multitasking product, as it can be used as a treatment to nourish and repair the hair, skin and nails due to the high fatty acid and Vitamin E content. It's ethically sourced from a women's co-operative in the foothills of Morocco's Atlas Mountains. I've been using it to soften my cuticles and can't wait to give it a go in my hair!

The Vapour Organic Beauty Halo Illuminator was a little difficult to use due to the nature of the sample, which appeared to be a thinly sliced cross section of the full stick version. I had to pick it up and lay it across my fingertip then slide that across my cheekbones to apply the product. However the formula was super creamy and easy to blend out, leaving me with a subtle sheen of moonlight-hued highlight. I'd definitely be interested to try the full version of this!

My 100% natural and cruelty-free Cocobetty Coconut Wipe smelled ah-mazing, kind of like a tropical holiday or a chocolate Bounty bar. So coconutty! The wipe felt deceptively dry until rubbed on the face, at which time the oils were released. This left my face very oily and I had to wipe the excess off with a tissue. I went in with some Micellar Water afterwards as a test and yes, the wipe had removed 95% of my makeup. This is a great option if you're after a less boring, unconventional and fun makeup wipe.

June Good Green Box*

Hello! I'm back with another Good Green Box* feature! If you missed the last one, you can read up on that here: April Good Green Box.  This is the June box, and it's a little bit different to what I've come to expect from this natural beauty subscription box service! Instead of a plethora of natural and organic beauty samples, the box contains a tin with 'Esse' written on the front. On closer inspection, this is a Trial Pack tin for Normal Skin, housing of a bunch of Esse Skincare samples! Let's have a look!

Contents
Esse Skincare Cream Cleanser (10 ml)
Esse Skincare Gel Cleanser (10 ml)
Esse Skincare Cocoa Exfoliator (10 ml)
Esse Skincare Clay Mask (10 ml)
Esse Skincare Deep Moisturiser (5 ml)
Esse Skincare Rich Moisturiser (5 ml)

We are also provided with the usual information card along with a booklet explaining all about the probiotic Esse skincare range. I hadn't heard of this brand before, but I was interested to read of their approach to skincare using probiotics. Apparently, optimal skin condition depends heavily on the probiotic microbes living on and in it. Probiotics help to reduce sensitivity, slow ageing and improve skin hydration. Without microbes, your skin is unable to perform basic functions, thus increasing the rate of skin ageing. Esse skincare uses prebiotics to selectively feed good microbes, and there are even live probiotic microbes included in two of their serums. I would have loved to try this but unfortunately the trial pack doesn't contain a serum.

Esse are certified organic, vegan and cruelty free. They also support fair trade and are a carbon neutral company. I'm impressed with their ranges, as they have skincare lines for sensitive and reactive skin, a Premium range for anti-ageing benefits and and the extensive Core range for normal skin.

The Deep Moisturiser smells amazing and is perfect for Winter since it's super-rich and packed full of prebiotics to feed beneficial microbes. It's ideal for people with very dry skin, and feels really nourishing when rubbed in. The Rich Moisturiser is creamier and takes longer to absorb, but leaves the skin feeling soft and supple. I really like both of these moisturisers.

The Gel Cleanser contains peppermint and spearmint oils to aid in micro-circulation, also making it a really refreshing wash. The Cream Cleanser removes dirt by binding with oil-based impurities. It contains marula oil for moisturisation and both this and the gel cleanser are ph balanced. Both cleansers are quite gentle and thin in consistency; my favourite is the gel one.

The refining Cocoa Microderm Exfoliator contains Kaolin and Calcium Carbonate to stimulate blood circulation and remove dead skin cells  and micro-particles to polish the skin's surface. It's really dark brown in colour which takes some getting used to, and is quite gritty in texture, providing a satisfying exfoliation. The Clay Mask is great for dehydrated skin as the inclusion of vitamins B, E and C work to reduce pigmentation, aid in cell regeneration and feed and nourish the skin. It's creamy and has a thin consistency.

April Good Green Box*!

Hello! Today I'll be talking about the April Good Green Box*. Now I was impressed with the March Good Green Box, but the April box is even more amazing, and frankly I'm wondering how long they can continue to improve for? When my April box arrived, it wouldn't even close properly, that's how jam-packed it was with natural goodies! It was freakin' bursting at the seams, which is exactly what you want out of a monthly subscription box; value for money and a crapload of exciting products to try! I unboxed this baby on my Insta Stories, but if you missed that hilarious catastrophe, you can check out what's in the April Good Green Box below!

What's In The Box?
Nuori Vital Foaming Cleanser (100ml)
Zuanna Cosmetics Smoothing Minerals Exfoliating Mask (10g)
Keeko Oil Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder (15g)
Raw Body Skincare The Original RAW Scrub (mini packet, size unspecified)
MooGoo Cow Lick Lip Balm (5g)
Organyc Feminine Hygiene (1 pad + 1 panty liner)
Amazing Oils Magnesium Sports Recovery Wipe (1 wipe)
Pukka Elderberry & Echinacea Tea (1 teabag)
Pukka Detox Tea (1 teabag)

I'm most excited by the large bottle of Nuori Vital Foaming Cleanser, what a generous size! This contains a fruit enzyme complex and claims to have revitalizing and smoothing qualities. This cleanser is made in Denmark with super-fresh ingredients and is worth $50! Each Good Green Box costs $25 if you buy month to month, so the inclusion of this cleanser provides sensational value for money right off the bat.

The Zuanna Cosmetics Smoothing Minerals Exfoliating Mask contains Moroccan Rhassoul Clay and Marshmallow Root and is free from fragrance, preservatives, sulphates and synthetic ingredients. This is an Aussie owned company that I haven't heard much about, so I'm keen to try this multi-tasking skincare product. How cute are the little resealable packets though? I just find them so adorable! Hehe.

I'm going to admit the Keeko Oil Activated Coconut Charcoal Powder confuses me! The info card says it's a mouth wash, the packet says it's a facial detox and teeth whitening powder and I've given up and gone back to bed, lol. I gather this is another product with multiple uses, and I've just seen that the back of the packet says you can also use it as a face mask and spot treatment! Well enter this over-achiever in a Decathlon because I think it does everything! Handily housed in a resealable packet again, so you can be sure it will remain fresh as you get multiple uses out of it.

I can't wait to try the Raw Body Skincare The Original RAW Scrub out! I haven't tried anything from this brand before, and I'm loving that the formula is packed full of great quality 100% certified organic and natural ingredients. This particular scrub contains freshly ground organic coffee beans, organic coconut oil, Himalayan Rock Salt and organic coconut sugar. Sounds so refreshing!

The MooGoo Cow Lick Lip Balm is super cool! The packet says 'made from edible ingredients because what goes on the lips gets eaten.' I love that! I've been trying this out and not only is it really moisturising, it also tastes great (when ingested with wear. I don't suggest spreading it on your morning toast). It contains honey and emollient oils to condition and soften the lips, Allantoin to repair minor cuts (so this is a great one to reach for if you have dry, cracked lips) and mandarin essential oils for the flavour. I might pass this on to my son because it's so natural and safe to use!

So the April box includes some feminine hygiene products, namely the Organyc Feminine Hygiene packet, which has one pad and one panty liner in it. These products are certified organic cotton, super breathable, hypoallergenic, biodegradable and chlorine and plastic free. So this is a great way to try out this brand, that I'd never heard of before, and I'll be popping these individual pads into a snap lock Glad Bag and chucking them in my handbag. Hot tip: they fit perfectly into the snack-size snap lock Glad Bags.

In the first example of perfect timing, I have just started exercising daily, so the Amazing Oils Sports Recovery Wipe actually came in handy for me! I haven't exercised in f-o-r-e-v-e-r, so you can imagine how sore I am. The Recovery range is a magnesium product that contains wintergreen and menthol. The claim is that it aids or assists in the prevention of muscular cramps or spasms and supports healthy energy levels. I wiped it on my sore lower back and the menthol was immediately noticeable. I felt a slight tingling and cooling effect and I'm pretty sure the pain decreased, although as the tingling was also verging on numbing, I can't be 100% certain what I was feeling.

And in the second case of perfect timing, for health reasons I have decided to swap coffee for tea, which will come as a huge shock if you follow my caffeine-heavy Instagram account! So the Pukka Elderberry & Echinacea and Detox Teabags couldn't have come at a better time! All I know at this stage is that I like English Breakfast and Earl Grey, hot (purely because of Captain Picard from Star Trek. #nerdalert #trekkie4eva). Today I tried the Pukka Detox and I really enjoyed it! I appreciate the long string, because you can easily wrap it around the mug handle (I haven't advanced to teacups yet, lol) with the bag still reaching deep inside the mug. The organic herbs used are from fair trade, sustainable sources, so you can rest easy when you sip.

If you're interested in joining, head to the Good Green Box website, they have a few different options available. And if you like any of the samples, you can buy the full size in the Good Green Box Shop on their website!

What's In The March Good Green Box*?

I was lucky enough to be sent a little gift this week, in the form of the March Good Green Box*! Many thanks to Bloggers United AU for hooking me up! Now I'll tell you why this is super-exciting for me; I'm that rare beauty lover that doesn't subscribe to any beauty subscription boxes. Say whaaaaaa? Well I'm normally quite happy to work my way through le beauty stash/large stockpile of samples I've collected. But having said that, getting a box in the mail that's full of beautiful surprises is not something I'll turn down! Good Green Box is a monthly box of organic and natural beauty products, some samples, some full-sized. If you like something after trialling it, you can buy it in their online store! It's a great way of trying out different products and brands, and useful if you're into natural beauty products. Let's see what's in the March Good Green Box, shall we?

First of all, there's a card explaining everything in the box, including the total value, a little description of each product, the price if you were to buy the full size product and all the key ingredients in each product.

What's Inside The Box?
~ Sarah Jean Lashes (SJ003)
~ Sarah Jean Waterproof Eyelash Adhesive in Clear (4ml)
~ MIOD Balancing Face Oil (15ml)
~ Wotnot Facial Wipes for Normal/Sensitive Skin (5 wipes)
~ Amazing Oils Organic Magnesium Wipes (sachet containing what feels like 1 wipe)
~ Bondi Wash Tasmanian Pepper & Lavender Body Wash (10ml sachet)
~ Earth Mumma Pit Paste Natural Deodorant (sample pot)

First up, there's a set of Sarah Jean Lashes and a Waterproof Eyelash Adhesive (in Clear) to go with it. I have to say I've never heard of this brand before! The lashes are vegan and cruelty-free and the information card says the adhesive uses a world first mascara-style applicator. Well I never! They are also anti-allergenic, water soluble and latex free. They are sounding pretty safe, I can't wait to give them a go!

Next up is a decent-sized MIOD Balancing Facial Oil. Guys, have you heard of MOID? Again, I haven't, but that's why these boxes are good. It's all about discovering new brands and trying new things. I've got a few other serums and another face oil to trial before this, but I will get to it soon.

I've already broken open and used one of the Wotnot Sensitive Wipes because I couldn't even be stuffed with the Micellar Water last night. I was so tired I just wanted my makeup off stat! These smell pleasant and did a good job of removing my face (not the whole thing, just the makeup, lol). They contain Australian certified organic aloe vera, rosehip and sweet almond oils.

Amazing Oils Organic Magnesium Wipes: what the hell is a magnesium wipe I hear you ask! Or is it just me that has NFI what this product is? Apparently you use it for pain relief of sore muscles and it can even help you sleep! I will wait until something goes wrong with a body part (shouldn't take too long, haha) and wipe this and await my Amazing results!

The Bondi Wash Tasmanian Pepper and Lavender Body Wash sure sounds interesting. Can't wait to lather this up. Here's hoping I don't burn my rude bits! I'm just kidding, they wouldn't really let the pepper heat your skin, guys. I do think this would be refreshing though (and might avoid my front bum region, just in case).

I've never used a natural deodorant before so the Earth Mumma Pit Paste has certainly caught my attention. This is described as a creamy deodorant made with simple, natural, organic ingredients. It actually smells really nice, and I appreciate the lack of parabens and other nasty chemicals. Can't wait to whack on my Brad Pitt Paste and see if it's effective! Hehe.

Overall, the contents of this box are valued at over $65! I'm happy with the inclusions and for someone with limited natural beauty exposure, I'm excited to try everything out and see how I go! Thanks again to Bloggers United AU and Good Green Box.
