Makeup Haul Part 1: Sephora!

Oh hi! I'm back from my Melbourne trip, so I thought I'd show you the beauty booty I hauled! Well everything from Sephora, anyway; the Mecca Maxima goodies will feature in a separate post. As it was a family holiday, mainly to watch the Soccer, I had to squeeze my shopping in between stacks of family activities, such as visits to Luna Park, Harbour Town, the Melbourne Star, Glow In The Dark Mini Golf, playgrounds and ArtVo. I still managed to visit Sephora and Mecca Maxima twice though (lol), which was great because I was able to get more free samples than if I'd bought everything in the one go. I had about three days between visits, so I was really able to ponder what else I wanted. Sephora was extremely busy on my initial trip, so I was unable to get the samples I wanted. The second visit was far more relaxed; I had more time to look and play, and there were more staff on the floor, so getting samples wasn't a problem. Here's everything I bought!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette
Kat Von D Alchemist Holographic Palette
Tarte Tarteist Treats Set
Tarte Tarteist Lip Wardrobe II
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer (Fair)
NudeStix Berry Nude Lips + Cheeks Pencil Set
Sephora Rouge Cream Lipstick (We Have To Talk)
Sephora Intense Gel Eye Pencil (Ultra Black)
Sephora Fingertip Eyeliner (Easy Blue)
Sephora Rose Eye Mask
Sephora Avocado Eye Mask
Sephora Rouge Infusion Lip Ink (Peony) {free gift at register}
Marc Jacobs Mini Highliner Gel Eye Crayon (Blacquer) {free gift at register}
Algenist Firming & Lifting Eye Gel {free sample}
Algenist Complete Eye Renewal Balm {free sample}
Ole Henriksen Ultimate Lift Eye Gel {free sample}
Murad Eye Lift Firming Treatment{free sample}

I am so excited to now own the much-hyped Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. It is gorgeous and I can't wait to use it! I swatched the Kat Von D Alchemist palette in-store and oh my, the holographic highlighters are so, so pretty! I wanted either this or the very similar Zoeva Spring Strobe Spectrum palette, but that wasn't available.

The Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer is a back-up purchase, as I'm about to run out. I think it's a fantastic concealer for under the eyes, and my current one has lasted me more than a year, so I'm happy to re-purchase it! I saw the Tarteist Lip Wardrobe Set near the counter and couldn't resist. The two mini shades contained within are right up my alley; one's a creamy matte lip paint and the other's a quick dry matte lip paint. The Tarteist Pro To Go Eyeshadow Palette swatched beautifully and the shades were screaming "BUY ME!", so when I saw this set containing the palette, a lash paint mascara and a glossy lip paint for just a few dollars more than the palette alone, I knew I had to have it!

I had picked out a single Nudestix pencil to buy, but saw a better option near the register, in the Nudestix Berry Nude Lips + Cheek Pencils Set. This contains three pencils in the shades Pulse, Sin and Raven, and they all look gorgeous. Raven is an intense matte formula, Sin is a Lip + Cheek Cream and Pulse is a Gel Colour Lip + Cheek Balm. I'm loving that I get to try out not only three shades, but three different textures, too!

I also picked up some Sephora brand makeup to play around with, and a couple of eye masks. All the free samples I requested were eye creams, as I'm a bit obsessed with trying out as many different ones as I can! I was pleasantly surprised to be offered two free gifts when paying at the register. There were a few to select from and I picked the Marc Jacobs mini gel eyeliner and a Sephora lip gloss!

September Favourites!

Hello! We are away on a two week Staycation for the school holidays but have just popped home for the weekend, so I thought I'd type up my September Favourites! I can't blog from where we're staying, so unfortunately replying to comments is taking a while and I'm not getting a chance to comment back on your blogs at the moment. But we are escaping the bathroom renovation work, which means I don't have to wee in front of workmen or put up with loud, annoying drilling (or whatever the hell it is they do) sounds. Can't wait for it to be over and things to return to normal!

Anyhoo, my September Favourites consists of five fabulous products that have been rocking my world on a daily basis (up until the bathroom renovation started anyway!). Let me know if you've tried any of them in the comments. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

It's as good as it looks!

Oh Deer Sugar Rose & Passionfruit Shower Moose
First of all, let's appreciate the clever moose/mousse pun. I thought it was a spelling error until the joke dawned on me! And now for the actual product. This gorgeous, bright pink 'moose' is delightfully fluffy and whipped to perfection. The consistency is amazing, and the lovely fragrance is out of this world. This applies like a dream, leaves my skin soft and clean, and smells of roses and fruit. The rose petals add a special touch of luxury, too. I really can't find a single fault with this product, and y'all need to haul arse to Regent Arcade in Adelaide and check it out. If you don't live in Adelaide, check out the Oh Deer Sugar website, as they deliver Australia-wide, too.

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
I'm always on the hunt for good concealers, and right now, this is my favourite. I'd previously been using Maybelline Fit Me concealer, which is good, but I was finding the coverage inadequate. The Tarte concealer is versatile and I love that I can use it anywhere on my face. It's great at covering red blemishes around my chin and is amazing over the top of my Bobbi Brown Corrector under my eyes. I hate concealers that settle into fine lines and accentuate them, but this products really lives up to the 'creaseless' title. I apply it with a little brush under my eyes then blend out with a makeup sponge, and I get a really nice, natural-looking finish from it. I only wish there was more product in the tube, as I'm going through it quite quickly! I purchased this in my Sephora Haul on my Melbourne trip.

Pink Rules (300) is the third lipstick from the left

Rimmel Moisture Renew Sheer & Shine Lipstick in Pink Rules (300)*
I've reviewed this range of Rimmel lipsticks here but in terms of favourites, one particular lipstick from the collection stands out; Pink Rules. This is such an easy to wear lipstick. The hydrating formula is just that, hydrating and moisturising, and so comfortable to wear on the lips. The bright pink shade is really pretty, flattering and perfect now that the weather is warming up. I love the stain that this leaves behind. Wearing it blotted down is an easy, effortless look, and one I'm really enjoying lately!

Product at top: Ardell Mechanical Brow Pencil

Ardell Mechanical Brow Pencil
I originally discovered this product when I won a big pack of Ardell products in an Instagram giveaway, and I've been hooked ever since. I don't know if it's the strange triangular design, or if my application has improved, but my brows are looking more natural than when I was using my previous eyebrow pencil. I've been using this, along with some Ardell Pomade (when time permits) and some Benefit Gimme Brow and I'm so much happier with my brows. The triangular pencil design really allows me to vary the line thickness, depending on what look I'm going for. The only problem is actually finding this pencil in-store! I had to visit three Priceline stores to find it. It is available online here but personally I prefer to shop in-store!

Top right: Lush Passion Fruit Lip Balm

Lush Passion Fruit Lip Balm*
I was kindly sent this along with a bunch of other Lush lip balms and tooth products. In terms of the lip balms, my two favourite scents are the Key Lime Pie and Passion Fruit, but this is the one I've been reaching for every night before bed. This has a thin consistency, glides on easily and feels slick on the lips. I love that it makes my lips feel really soft and nourished. I feel like Lush have improved the design of their little metal screw-top tins as well. I remember a few Christmas lip balm releases where the tin was hard to open and never really closed properly, but no such issues with this collection. Passion Fruit appears orange in the tin. It has a slight shimmer with tiny sparkly particles and once applied imparts an ever-so-subtle orange tint. I absolutely adore the fruity fragrance of this product!

Linking up to FYBF and The Ultimate Rabbit Hole.

Melbourne Haul Pt 2: Sephora!

Just a little bit of Sephora shopping :)

Oh wow, it's taken me a while to get this post up. I'm quite frankly impressed with my advanced level of procrastination and immense laziness. You might recall Part One of my Melbourne Haul, where I showed you everything I bought from Lush, Myer, Target, MAC, Lovisa and Colette. Well now for everything I got from Sephora. Yes, their Beauty Pass reward program isn't as good as Mecca's Beauty Loop one, but I've managed to progress from 'White' to 'Black' member status with this haul. Which means I'm now receiving email invitations to events I can't attend because there's no Sephora in Adelaide. YAY!

Here's what I bought.....

IT Cosmetics CC+ Eye Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream in Fair
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in Double Tap
Zoeva Luxe Cream Lipstick in Melting Kisses
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Liptick in Tijuana
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bachelorette
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bauhau5
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Santa Sangre
Sephora round zip-up bag (free Welcome Gift that I insisted on receiving as I never received my Welcome Gift when I first joined the Beauty Pass program a few months ago. LOL).
SK-II Ultimate Perfecting Eye Cream (free sample)
Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Cream (free sample)
Algenist Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Eye Cream (free sample)

IT Cosmetics CC+ Eye Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream. What a mouthful!
Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer
Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint in Double Tap
Zoeva Luxe Cream Lipstick in Melting Kisses
Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Tijuana
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick top-bottom: Santa Sangre, Bauhau5, Bachelorette
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bachelorette
Kat Von D swatches top - bottom: Bachelorette, Santa Sangre, Bauhau5
Freebies!

As you can see I went a bit crazy for lipsticks. I don't even know why. I mean I love them, I think they're exciting, but I just generally feel an overwhelming urge take over me when I go instore, and this time it was for lip products. Which reminds me, during my last Sephora visit in March, I experienced mask madness (you can see that haul here); I really should start using them! I was in swatching heaven with these lippies and made full use of Sephora's clean-up station about 27 times. So far, I've only used the concealers, and I gotta say I'm loving the Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer under my eyes. It's giving my Benefit Erase Paste a run for its money, I just wish there was more product, as it's quite a small size. However the IT Cosmetics correcting cream was not my first choice as they'd sold out of the Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer. Sadly, the IT Cosmetics CC+ Eye Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream is not wowing me, and I still prefer my Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector to cover my under eye circles.

Keep an eye out for Part 3 of my Melbourne Haul, everything I got from Mecca Maxima, hopefully in the not-too-distant future!
