The Body Shop Haul!

So The Body Shop were having an online Clearance Sale. Items were as low as $2.50, $4.00 and $5.00! Personally, the only time I've seen The Body Shop have a sale was when I was in Singapore (and I Hauled then, too). Needless to say, purchases had to be made. I use my own moolah for these sprees, but I still sheepishly approach the hubby afterwards and explain what I did. "I HAD TO!" I exclaim. He replies "that's the wrong use of the word 'had'". Then we both laugh. hehe. Here's what I got.....

Cucumber Cleansing Milk ($2.50!)
Cucumber Freshening Water ($2.50!)
Sweet Lemon Body Scrub ($15.00!)
Tailored Cheek Tint in Hot Pink ($4.00!)
Nature's Minerals Eye Colour in Radiant Graphite ($5.00!)
Nature's Minerals Eye Colour in Molten Bronze ($5.00!)

OK it was $8.95 for delivery, but even when you add that on, I still got all this for $42.95!

WIN!

Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Serum & Contour De-Puffy Jewel Reviews

Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Serum

Cellnique say:
"This unique BioCELL eL formulation helps reveal a fresh, radiant and healthy looking skin. It promotes cell desquamation that accelerates the cell renewal process and unclogs pores. It is also effective in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Benefits:
Promotes the cell renewal process
Improves the texture of the skin
Reduces the signs of ageing
Has anti-oxidant properties"

Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Serum is an off-white/yellowy-coloured cream, fairly light in texture, that absorbs easily into the skin. I've been using this serum under my moisturiser for about three weeks and I'm quite enjoying it. It dries really quickly, so it doesn't really slow down my routine. I haven't tried it on its own with makeup, but with moisturiser on top, it provides a good base for foundation and concealer. My skin has cleared up a fair bit in the last few weeks (thank goodness!), but I can't say if this product is the reason, or another, or maybe a combination of products. My skin is looking slightly firmer and more toned, although the fine lines under my eyes, while not terribly pronounced, haven't improved overall. My skin tone looks more even, as before I was quite blotchy. This product has a bit of a strangle smell; not really like a fragranced cream, more so of a slight medicinal aroma. I like the pump action dispenser because it keeps the product sealed in so it's not exposed, and I'm not wasting the serum, as it comes out in a measured dose. Overall, a good serum that I will continue to use until it's finished.

Cellnique Contour De-Puffy Jewel

Cellnique say:
"With its unique combination of Acetyl Tetrapeptide Gold Dipeptide and Rhodochrosite Extract, this formulation lifts away eye puffiness and dark circles by increasing blood circulation and providing deep moisturizing around the eye area. Designed with a SPF level of 15 it protects skin from those harmful ageing UVA and UVB rays.
Benefits:
Reduces puffiness and dark circles
Minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
Strengthens and regenerates skin tissues
Soothes, softens, and hydrates the delicate eye-area skin
Sun protection, SPF15"

Cellnique Contour De-Puffy Jewel is a clear gel that feels great being applied; very cooling and soothing. It takes a little while to absorb into the under eye area, but this is not a problem for me, as I apply this first, then apply my serum and moisturiser, and by the time I've done that, my skin has soaked it up. I am really impressed with the performance of this 'Jewel'. I have noticed a significant reduction in puffiness and dark circles within a few minutes of putting this on (which makes subsequent makeup application a lot easier, because I don't have to use as much under eye concealer to cover the dark circles!). Again, this comes in a handy pump dispenser, so the product is not exposed to the air, and you don't have to scrape any out with your fingertips. I found that one push dispenses enough product for both eyes, as a little goes a long way. This also leaves my skin soft and well-hydrated, but I didn't see much difference in relation to my fine lines. Overall, I am very happy with this product, and will continue to use it until it's finished.

A Nation State Tale!

Once Upon A Time I received some stationery in the mail from .......

Nation State. I proceeded to gaze in wonder at the.......

Koh-I-Noor Magic Pencil (available here) and get all excited at the prospect of giving it a whirl. But first I took some more photos..........

Not wanting to wait any longer, I knew it was time to rip open my...........

Set of 2 Moleskine Notebooks (Volant). These little beauties had 96 lined pages each and the last 16 pages were even detachable. That's good, because normally I rip pages out willy nilly. This way I can write a shopping list and detach it like a tidy person. YAY! The cardboard covers are flexible, and the notebooks are just the right size for jotting down thoughts and making lists.

Moving on to the all important aspect of colour, I admired the pretty shades of Pink Magenta and Rose Magenta, and reflected upon how fabulous pink was.

Time to bust out the Magic pencil! I was flicking through the notebook, deciding where to release my (very limited) creative talents, when I stumbled upon this cute little message........

so I drew a love heart around it. As you do. By that stage I was pretty enamoured with the colourful abilities of the Magic pen, so I started colouring in the bottom of the page, then turned it into a.........

caterpillar. This greatly impressed my four and a half year old son, who was only expecting a triangle from me, given my track record. Until he said, "Mummy, don't caterpillars have legs?". Um yes. Yes, they do.

And my pink Moleskine notebooks, Magic pencil and I lived happily ever after.

The End.

June Beauty Favourites!

Here are seven beauty products I used obsessively last month. So much so, that the Clinique Chubby Stick is almost gone. Sad face.

1/  Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey
My one and only Chubby, Whole Lotta Honey, is nearly kaput. I will most certainly be getting another Chubby, such is the luxurious feel of this moisturising lip balm from Clinique. My only problem? What colour to try next!

2/  Benefit Thrrrob
This powder blush from one of my favourite brands, Benefit, is subtle and oh so pretty. A musky pink that makes me smile!

3/  L'Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream
I'm onto my final sample-sized tube of this gorgeous hand cream, and I will certainly miss it when it's gone. It absorbs super-quickly and leaves my skin soft, nourished and lightly fragranced.

4/  The Body Shop Candied Ginger Lip Balm
Ginger can be potent and overpowering, but this lip balm is delicious and addictive! Not that I eat it, of course. The texture is just right and it feels lovely on.

5/  Schwarzkopf Instant Volume Powder
This works really well on my fringe to give it a bit of volume in the morning. Sprinkle, rub in, style and spray and my hair instantly looks fuller.

6/  Clinique Anti-Fatigue Cooling Eye Gel
Yes, it's from the mens range, and no, I don't have a penis, but I tried it and I like it. So there. Seriously, this is working wonders for my dark circles and eye bags, really brightening and lifting the area. I am so impressed by this product, I never want this to run out.

7/  Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude
Revlon is fast becoming my favourite lipstick brand, and I reckon I've collected about 20 recently. This glides on effortlessly and the pretty nude shade is to die for. I find I'm reaching for this lippie every day, it's just so flattering.

Disclaimer: I won the Clinique Eye Gel, all other products were either bought by me or included as a freebie with purchase. All opinions are my own.
