OMG, I'm attending my first ever blogging event this weekend! It's the Bloggers United Adelaide Event and I'm a bit excited. I can't wait to meet my fellow bloggers, mingle with brands and learn new blogging skills. At the same time, I'm quietly shitting myself a bit nervous and have pretty much been having a constant panic attack since my invite arrived. LOL! It's all good though. What have you been up to this week? Did you see Laurina get covered in rhino poo on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here? Aaaaaahhh, good times.

I've outdone myself this week with the following goodness......

> I love this cute dog Vine:  A typical school night

> Ryan Reynolds interviews Hugh Jackman, and it's awesome squared! I Crashed the Eddie the Eagle Junket

> Play Leo's Red Carpet Rampage ~ Collect as many Awards as you can in the quest for that elusive Oscar. Hilarious!

> Coby The Cat has the most beautiful eyes ever!

> Legit the funniest blog post I've read in ages from The Bloggess

> Ryan Reynolds, Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr had a Twitter Lovefest

Priceline HairCare Gift Bag GWP!

Last Saturday I wrote about the Priceline HairCare Gift Bag gift with purchase in my post Current Beauty Gift With Purchase Offers and yesterday, I excitedly snapped one up! The first store I visited was sold out (cue panic!) but luckily the Myer Centre Priceline had plenty left. Here's the offer:

Spend $40 or more in-store or online on participating hair brands and receive a free haircare gift bag valued at over $200.
The participating brands are OGX, Crema Color, Garnier, Elvive, Kardashian Beauty, Pantene, Cedel, Batiste, Hask, Lady Jayne, Scunci, Marc Anthony, Schwarzkopf, Revlon Colorsilk, John Frieda, Alchemy, Just For Men and Napro Palette.

This is available until 24 February or while stocks last, so if you want to do it, hurry up!

I want to mention the amazing customer service I received. I'd already planned what products I wanted to buy and the Sales Assistant took me to each item on my list, then read the prices out to me so I could check the total cost on my iPhone calculator! Then once I'd bought my shizz, she led me to the three free hair colour products so I could select them then and there (you get a number of coupons within the Gift Bag and some are outright free redemptions as opposed to the $5 off ones). I couldn't have asked for better service!

Here's what I got in my Gift Bag.....

There's a lot of treatment and mask-type products, which is great for me, because I need to use them a lot more than I do (which is hardly ever, to be honest!). 99% of the products are from great Brands that I'm happy to use (sorry, Cedel), and overall I think this is a fantastic Bag. I'll use the Batiste dry shampoo for my upcoming Sydney trip as it's a handy travel size, I'm excited to try the Scunci Velvet Smoothies, and all the treatments and masks will come in handy as I'm about to colour my hair again. But speaking of hair colour, WTF is up with the Garnier Color Sensation in Intense Ruby? I did not sanction this! And from reading other beauty blogs, most (if not all?) of the Gift Bags contain a red hair colour. How weird!

The colours I swapped my vouchers for and the remaining vouchers

Below is what I bought to qualify for the free Gift Bag. It came to $40.16 by the way, because I'm nothing if not thrifty!.....

Can you tell I love Schwarzkopf products? I got a back up hairspray, dry shampoo and thickening serum (all staples in my routine) and decided to try out a few interesting-looking products (Schwarzkopf Hair Refill Shampoo and Instant Hair Filling Serum, John Frieda 7 Day Volume In-Shower Treatment) in my ongoing quest for hair volume!

Review/Swatches: Rimmel The Only 1 Lipsticks*

I am a huge fan of Rimmel lipsticks, and count the Kate Moss Lasting Finish range as one of my favourite collections, so I was overjoyed to receive six lipsticks from the brand new Rimmel The Only 1 range* recently!

This new collection is so-named because it's supposed to be 'The Only 1' you'll ever need! A multi-tasking lipstick with a hybrid formula that combines the best elements of both moisturising and long-wear lipsticks. Rimmel claim The Only 1 lipsticks excel in the following all-important areas:

  • provide Moisture that's vitamin-enriched
  • Intense, vibrant, high-impact Colour
  • Long-wearing, stays true to colour for hours
  • Is a lightweight Comfortable formula that glides on, isn't heavy or dry

I've been trialling these lipsticks for about two weeks and my conclusions are resoundingly positive. First of all, I'm impressed with the formula Rimmel have created. I agree that the texture is lightweight and glides on easily, and it definitely isn't heavy or dry. In fact, when I first apply it, there's a somewhat 'wet' feel, but this goes away as the lipstick seems to set. There is certainly a lovely moisturising quality to The Only 1 lipsticks. The formula contains Vitamin E and Rosa fruit oil, and it feels like they really do their job!

In terms of colour, again, this range is a winner. I found the colours to be intense (especially Pink A Punch and Best of the Best) and highly pigmented. These were also fairly long-lasting on me. I have a habit of rubbing my lips together a lot throughout the day, which wears away normal lipsticks, but even with that, the colour was still vibrant, to the point where I would look in the mirror and be shocked it still looked that fresh. I found that certain shades lasted longer than others, in particular the intense shades mentioned above, whereas Naughty Nude and It's a Keeper didn't have quite the same staying power. I still had to re-apply after eating but that's to be expected. I find this range very comfortable to wear, and love that when it does wear off, my lips were left with a lovely stain, so they didn't look completely bare. This is great if you're too busy to re-apply your lippie throughout the day.

I found the circular shape of the product in the bullet meant application was slightly trickier than applying lipsticks that have a pointed tip. I had to take care around the edges and the cupid's bow in particular. However, that's where the Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lipliners come into the picture. Three new shades have been added to the already-existing Exaggerate line specifically with The Only 1 lipsticks in mind. These new shades are Peachy-Beachy*, Call Me Crazy and Under My Spell.

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lipliner in Peachy-Beachy

There are 12 shades in The Only 1 lipstick range. Here are the six I've been wearing:

  • Naughty Nude - a natural looking nude with a hint of pink
  • Peachy Beachy - a bright peachy coral
  • You're All Mine - a feminine, bright pink
  • It's A Keeper - a soft mauve pink
  • Pink A Punch - a strong, vibrant, bold pink
  • Best Of The Best - a rich deep red

Rimmel The Only 1 lipsticks RRP $15.95 and Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liners RRP $12.95, available now from Priceline, Chemist Warehouse, Target, Kmart, Big W, selected pharmacies and selected Coles and Woolworths.

A Beauty-Full Haul!

I'll preface this by saying I don't go into the city much. So when I take the hour long bus ride into town (on a school day, no less!), I make the most of it. This includes writing a huge list of everything I want to buy, where to get it and even the order in which to shop! Yes, I maximize my shopping time by prioritizing and putting everything in the most efficient order, so I'm not doubling back. I only had two hours to get all this plus buy my husband a Valentine's Day gift, as I was meeting him for lunch, then needed to be on the return bus so I could pick up my son from school. I'm happy with everything I got, although I would have liked to get a new perfume in the Priceline 'up to 60% off fragrances' sale, but I didn't like anything I sniffed!

I'd been wanting to try something from Natura Siberica ever since reading about the brand on beauty blogs and I'm fresh out of body scrub, so the Natura Siberica Oblepikha And Honey Body Scrub was a no-brainer. Look at that pretty packaging! I've had a sniff and it smells amazing, too! Plus I wanted a new mascara, and Maybelline Masterliner is my everyday eyeliner, so I was pretty thrilled to find this Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Leather Black Mascara with bonus Masterliner Cream Pencil pack! This little haul was from Chemist Warehouse.

I had two Priceline Sister Club discount vouchers to use (yay!) so bought a pack of Schwarzkopf Blonde Ultime in Xtra Light Cool Blonde (marked down to $8.00) and Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Toner. I still hadn't reached my voucher value so added a couple of lippies, Essence lipstick in 01 Coral Calling and Savvy by DB lipstick in Guava. With my two vouchers, everything came to $4.70 YES!

I visited The Body Shop with the purpose of smelling their Italian Summer Fig scent (quite nice!) and getting a Born Lippy in Strawberry. I used to wear this every day at school when I was a teenager. Major nostalgia hit! I still love it. I looked in their sale section (of course) and found the strange but alluring Colour Crush Lipstick in 301 Drive Me Nuts. It's a brown shimmer and will be hit or miss (can't wait to try it) but at only $4.95, down from $21.95, I had to take the chance! ~ Edit~ it looks great blotted down on the lips and I even like it blended on the outer edges of my lids as an eyeshadow!

I was so excited to finally check out Oh Deer Sugar in Regent Arcade! It's very similar to Lush, but all the products are vegan and handmade in my hometown, little ol' Adelaide. After sniffing nearly everything I couldn't pass up the Fruit Tingle Body Scrub. I got a little piece of gingerbread bubble bar as a free sample, too!

Being the stationery addict I am, I had to get another three Typo A5 Spinout Notebooks. I write pages of notes, lists, ideas, recipes, blog ideas etc every day and go through these notebooks so quickly. I love their three for $10 deal.

I'm joining in with the Fabulous And Fun Life Monday Makeup Madness Linky Party!

MAX My Web Week: 12/02/16

Oh hi, how's everything? TGIF right? I had a blog-related drama this week when it was brought to my attention that several of my links from this Valentine's Day Gift Guide post were appearing as affiliate links! Which is impossible, because I'm not joined with any affiliate programs whatsoever. After a slight meltdown, my husband, who works in IT solved the problem. Apparently, LinkWithin (which I had installed on the blog) redirect all the links I post to their site first, then onto the linked site, so that it appears the traffic is coming from them. So they earn affiliate money off my links. One of the links, when clicked went to 'Clix Galore'; this was simply an affiliate that they had not configured correctly. LinkWithin started off not doing this, then changed without informing site owners, so it's a bit sneaky. A blogger informed me Shareaholic are the same, but I don't have this so I can't confirm. Long story, short, I un-installed LinkWithin on my site, so they can no longer re-direct and profit from my links.

Anyhoo, here are ten ways the internet entertained me this week. Enjoy!
