Review: Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Sheet Mask

Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Sheet Mask

Hi guys! My skin has been feeling super dry lately, like nothing seems to quench it (thanks Winter!). So I thought what a perfect time to use one of the 5270 masks I have sitting in my beauty drawer lol. I really need to make a challenge out of it and see how many I can get through in a month. But for now, let's talk about the Garnier Hydra Bomb Eye Sheet Mask!

This single-use pair of eye sheet patches with a vegan formula claim to smooth crow's feet lines and rehydrate the eye area, addressing signs of ageing. They contain green tea and hyaluronic acid (which seems to be in everything these days!) and are supposed to have a -4 degrees C cooling effect. Well I didn't get out my thermometer, but my skin did feel cool and refreshed while I was wearing these, and afterwards.

I don't really have crow's feet, because no, my wrinkles have to be under my eyes instead, which looks way uglier. Give me crow's feet any day! Anyway, my under eye area looked smoother after I peeled the patches off and my skin certainly did drink in the product, as those fuckers were sucked dry! My skin was left a bit tacky afterwards at first, so don't slap your makeup on immediately, it won't be good. Definitely apply your eye cream and moisturiser to provide a better base for makeup after using these eye masks.

I like that the patches adhere to the skin really well and don't slide off, so there's no constant re-adjusting like with some eye masks. They're a generous size, covering under the eyes plus the upper and mid-cheeks too. They are quick and easy to use; you only need to leave them on for 15 minutes.

Hot Tip: there's plenty of leftover product in the packet so make sure you squeeze that out and store it in a sealable skincare sample pot for future use. You could probably get a few days use out of what's left in the bottom of the packet!

I quite liked these and would probably purchase again, but I'd wait 'til they were on sale at Priceline, or head into Chemist Warehouse.

RRP $4.99 (currently on sale at Chemist Warehouse for $2.99 and Priceline for $3.49)

Winter Rainbow Mani!

Hi guys! August is nearly done which signals the end of Winter here in Australia. Which got me thinking, have I even done a Winter-themed mani yet this year? I don't think so! So before we step into Spring, I present to you my Winter Rainbow manicure. I think I've done something like this before, but I've since had a massive nailpolish de-clutter, so I had far less colours to choose from this time. Still, I hope you like it!

Products Used:

~ Essie  'Jump in my Jumpsuit' (pinkie finger)
~ Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Bluetiful' (ring finger)
~ Zoya 'Yara' (middle finger)
~ Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant '300' (pointer finger)
~ Bourjois 1 Seconde Gel '12' (thumb)

I really love how this turned out! I would've liked to include a burnt orange colour but I must have thrown anything resembling this out in my de-clutter.

I'm currently trying to blog once a week, publishing on Mondays, let's see if I can keep it up! You can check out my last two posts Colourpop Haul and Binge It In A Day. Not to make excuses for future me, but September is my busiest month of the year, with two Birthdays, Father's Day, the Royal Show and my Wedding Anniversary. So I may not be able to keep up this schedule, but I'll do my best. Have a good week!

Binge It In A Day!

Hi guys! I had a couple of weeks where I watched a lot of TV shows. This has tapered off since school has returned, but I thought I'd write about a few shows you can binge in a day. Some people like finding shows that have a lot of seasons... I'm the opposite. I really like getting an entire show watched quickly, then that's it, it's done. Sayonara! Let's have a look at some of these shows!

MAN VS BEE

Where to watch: Netflix
Length: 9 episodes (10 mins approx each) = 1.5 hours total

This absolutely ridiculous but quite funny series stars Rowan Atkinson, of Mr Bean and Blackadder fame, as a dim-witted man, who becomes obsessed with a bee. This is a show where you just have to go along for the ride and try not to think too hard, or at all, because honestly, the stupidity of the main character will drive you nuts lol. This is the perfect show to watch with your kids. Each episode is super short and engaging, and there's plenty of laughs to be had.

I AM GROOT

Where to watch: Disney+
Length: 5 episodes (5 mins each) = 15 mins total

Totalling only 15 minutes, you can't ask for an easier show to binge! These episodes, based on the Groot character from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, are an exceptionally easy watch, and again, kids would love them. Marvel fans would also enjoy these shorts, obviously! And even though Groot is only capable of uttering the words "I am Groot", the writers did manage to put a bit of dialogue in some of these, thank God.

THE WOMAN IN THE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE GIRL IN THE WINDOW

{NO SPOILERS}

Where to watch: Netflix
Length: 8 episodes (22-29 mins each) = just under 4 hours

This dark comedy/murder mystery is a parody (the wordy title might give it away) that was panned by critics, but I kind of enjoyed it. If you're a fan of lead actress Kristen Bell, murder mysteries, or red wine, you'll have fun. Anna drinks a lot of red wine in this, and fair enough really, as she's mourning the horrific death of her young daughter, then she has a murderer to contend with. I liked this right up until the end, where it went batshit crazy. But no spoilers, so you'll just have to watch to see what I mean.

BAD VEGAN: FAME, FRAUD, FUGITIVES

Where to watch: Netflix
Length: 4 episodes (44-61 mins each) = 4 hours approx total

Bad Vegan is a documentary based on the life of vegan restaurateur Sarma Melngailis, and what happens when she marries a mysterious and charming man who claims he can make her beloved dog immortal. This is fascinating, and strange and beyond comprehension, but nonetheless quite an entertaining watch. If you enjoyed 'The Tinder Swindler' or 'Inventing Anna' you're sure to love this.

THE PREMISE

Where to watch: Binge
Length: 5 episodes (30 mins approx each) = 2.5 hours total

The Premise is an anthology series created by BJ Novak (Ryan from the US version of The Office). It explores timeless moral questions and topics such as gun control, social justice, identity, love, fame and revenge. I loved this! Each episode is a completely different story, with different actors (ie, an anthology), and even though the themes are sometimes serious, such as the moving 'Moment of Silence', there are also light-hearted episodes that are wacky and funny, like 'Butt Plug' and 'Social Justice Sex Tape'. There are only five episodes, making this the perfect show to binge in a day.

ColourPop Haul!

Hi guys! I'm so excited to finally have bought some ColourPop goodies, as I've been wanting to try their famous Super Shock Shadows for the longest time! They recently (and by recently I mean late May! - it took about six weeks for my CP parcel to arrive here from America lol) had a free shipping offer so I jumped at the opportunity to snap up some new makeup. Let's take a look at what I got:

Lippie Stix lipstick in the shade Parker, a matte, mid-tone warm nude. I'm always going to gravitate towards nude colours for the lips. I do prefer a creamier finish, so let's hope this isn't too matte for me. The website says the formula is long-wearing, delivers one swipe pigmentation and is 'creamy af'; it contains vitamin E, mango, avocado and shea butter, so fingers crossed I love it!

Super Shock Blush in the shade 360 Degrees. Actually it's 360 with the little degrees sign after it but there isn't one on my keyboard lol. This is a soft hot pink shade that I just couldn't resist. It's a creme to powder formula that has a bouncy texture. Exciting!

Super Shock Shadows. Here we go! I went moderately crazy and bought five shadows in the shades Party of Five, Aster, Kale Yeah, Low 70's and 2nite. It was so hard to narrow my selections down to just a few as there were so many really pretty colours! Luckily they are quite affordable, and I thought while there's free shipping I may as well get a bunch. Who know if or when I'll order ColourPop again!

Party of Five: warm burgundy with a ton of multi-coloured duochrome glitter on top

Aster: a metallic peachy taupe with silver pin points for fresh looks

Kale Yeah: metallic turquoise with a gold duochrome finish

Low 70's: dazzling metallic warm pink rose gold

2nite: bold burnt red with silver, gold and pink pin points

Do you have any ColoupPop? Which shade takes your fancy?
