Body Of Lies
Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Russell Crowe, Mark Strong, Vince Colosimo
Genre: Thriller/Action
OK I'm going to explain the general plot even though it could have been about anything. Leonardo DiCaprio is in it, and that means I Must Watch It. He's my favourite actor and I have loved him forever. Body of Lies is a spy film, directed by Ridley Scott. The CIA and Jordanian Intelligence attempt to work together to catch a Jihadist terrorist in the Middle East. The cultural differences between the countries mean two very different approaches, and CIA Case Officer Roger Ferris (Leonardo DiCaprio) knows only too well the importance of respecting Jordanian culture. His boss, Ed Hoffman (Russell Crowe) operating from the US, has a totally different approach, which often gets Ferris into trouble. An intense performance from Leo kept me interested in the story, and on the plus side, he did modify the fugly long beard after about the first half hour. Thank God! It's another role where Russell Crowe is overweight; this makes for a funny scene where Leo upturns Russell's chair while he is sitting in it. About the only LOL of the movie, mind you! Overall, this is worth it if you are a diehard Leo fan, like myself.
Side note: Loving the presence of a song played during the closing credits, named "If The World," performed by Guns N' Roses, and taken from their long-delayed Chinese Democracy album. Go the Gunners!
Have you seen Body Of Lies?
