August Goals!

One Pan Pasta Caprese!

I don't want to make excuses, but here are three. I've had a really busy month, I was stressed about my Dad having another operation (he's fine now) and, well, I'm lazy.

These were my July Goals:

  • Create spreadsheet for beauty staples with dates, stockists and best prices ~ NO
  • Dine at a restaurant I've never been to before! ~ YES! We went to Burger Foundry (see foodie pics here), From Orient, La Boca Bar & Grill (see photo in my Just Desserts post) and Borsa Pasta Cucina.
  • Clear/clean a second kitchen bench-top (whole kitchen goal was too ambitious) ~ Hahaha (NO)
  • Set up a Letterboxd account and make some movie lists! ~ YES! Here's my profile if you're interested!
  • Publish 10 blog posts in July! ~ YES!
  • Make a new (never cooked before) dish every Wednesday, from a recipe ~ NO (I only managed one new recipe, One Pan Pasta Caprese, photo above)
  • Read one book (something better than Puberty Blues) ~ NO
  • Find and pat a cat! ~ NO! Where were all the cats in July?
  • Exercise for 30 minutes every Tuesday and Thursday ~ NO, but I did do over 20,000 steps one day, thanks to excessive walking during our City Break.
  • Shopping Spree! Buy new jeans and long-sleeved tops ~ NO

Summary - 3/10 Oh dear!

Must be too cold outside for my neighbourhood kitty friend. Long time, no see!

Let's hope I fare a bit better with my August Goals......

  • Clear out the entire Linenpress, ready for the Builder
  • Go to bed by 11pm Sunday to Thursday nights!
  • Buy new jeans and long-sleeved tops
  • First-time watch five movies
  • Cook five new dishes from recipes
  • Find a cat (or any animal that's safe to pat) and pat it!
  • Walk 5000 FitBit steps every weekday
  • Cut and colour my hair
  • Compile recipe printouts and cutouts into a folder
  • Clear and clean my desk

What are your goals for August?

  1. Well, congratulations on the July you achieved and I'm sure you will do will in August! I swear I clean and clear my desk on the daily and it doesn't seem to help by the next morning. It also fascinates me that you stay up until 11pm??? I wouldn't be able to function if I stayed up that late :(

    1. Thanks Elle! I've been staying up a lot later than 11pm and I really shouldn't be, hence the goal. So tired lately!

  2. I have long been in need of a cut but I just keep postponing it, hopefully soon.

  7. I just jumped over to check out your letterboxd profile, I'm a big movie buff and I'm very tempted to set up a profile!! For August, I'd like to bake every fortnight... and get my taxes done (urghhh)

    1. If you're a movie buff, definitely set up a Letterboxd account - it's fun and helpful! Good luck with the baking and taxes :)

  8. I've got no idea of what Letterboxd is??? Is it something movie related?

Well done on the goals you did achieve in July! I'm a bit scared to publicly write my everyday/decluttering etc goals down, it takes me so long to get to some of them. Last night I did some household filing that dated back to February! Lol!

    1. Yes Letterboxd is purely for movies; you can make lists, keep a diary so you know what you've watched and when (and what you want to watch!) LOL at your Feb filing, better late than never, though!

  9. Oh I like this owning your monthly goals on the blog. Great idea. I'm a little scared to do it myself though ha.

    1. It's really helping me keep on track with longer-term goals, as I'm pretty good with my Daily To Do list :)

  10. I honestly love reading through your goals list every month! It always reminds me randomly of things that I need to try/get done myself! DF xox

PS, I think the cats have been on my street lol

  11. Can I guess that the first goal crossed off is the buying new clothes? And did you read a book and it just wasn't better than Puberty Blues, or did you not read a book?

    1. No, it's compile my recipes into a folder! Already done! Sadly, I didn't get around to reading a book at all :/

  12. I need to do something similar. I've just had to track a 5 day schedule/to-do list with a journal reflection afterwards for my business course. It certainly was an eye opening exercise and it has made me realise that I need monthly goals as well as weekly goals and to be more flexible in the day to day schedule.

    1. Good luck setting your goals. I am definitely more organised since I started making monthly goals, so it's really a huge positive for me.

  14. Very interesting post to read! It's always good reviewing goals to see how much you've achieved :) Are you going to cut your hair really short or just a trim?

    1. The shortest I'll go is a long bob, but I'll probably even chicken out of that and just take two inches off!

  15. I think you did pretty well with your goals. It makes me giggle that you couldn't find a cat to pat, mine is constantly under my feet :)

    1. We haven't had a pet in nearly a year now! I didn't think it would be this hard to find random animals to pat!
