Jamberry Nail Wraps!*

Jamberry Nail Wraps sheet + an extra sample sheet

You guys know I'm into manicures, right? I love painting my nails. I normally keep it pretty simple, though, purely because I don't have a clue how to do all that fancy nail art! The confusing world of 'nail stamping' is beyond me and I'm pretty sure I'd make a right royal mess if I were to try it. Let alone drawing delicate pictures that resemble animal faces or palm tree beach scenes onto each nail! So you can see why I jumped at the opportunity to try out Jamberry Nail Wraps*! High-tech vinyl nail decals in gorgeous patterns and designs that you just stick on? Yes please!

Jamberry are an American company that have just started operating in Australia and New Zealand this month! I was contacted by Jamberry Nails Consultant Cassy Barfield to trial the wraps, and I was more than willing to give them a go. There are so many design categories, ranging from super-cool Runway, floral Garden Party or pattern-heavy Graphic Punch to the cute as a button Holiday and Animal Instinct designs (think butterfly wings, snakeskin and zebra stripes, to name a few!). Not only that, but there are a range of finishes, including Matte, Sparkle, Clear, Metallic and Satin.

Happily, the wraps come with clear, easy to follow instructions for application and removal. There's even a Youtube video on this if you prefer to follow directions via a visual demonstration. They can be applied to natural or artificial nails, there's obviously no drying time (woo hoo!), no chipping and they are supposed to last for 2 weeks (4 weeks if you put them on your toes).

My Experience
I'll start off by saying the process is a bit fiddly, and it's certainly a learning curve situation! I did spend a fair while selecting the individual wraps from the sheet that best fitted my different nail widths, but I think I could have done a better job at this. I followed the directions for application, but still ended up with bubbles despite heating with a hairdryer and smoothing the wraps out. I feel like my nails may be too curved to get a perfectly smooth fit, because as soon as I'd flatten one bump, another would arise. I think these would best suit nails that are quite flat across the width. Also, I suck at applying them (if you can't already tell from the photos!). I did improve with practice, though.

I would suggest using super-sharp nail scissors when snipping off the excess wrap once it's fitted onto the nail. I found this a bit challenging because my nail scissors were blunt and I had to resort to huge kitchen scissors! I absolutely love the designs and the different looks that can be created with these wraps. I decided to paint my thumbnails with Essie polish (Madison Ave-Hue and Bikini So Teeny) instead of using the wraps there, to get a bold colour contrast.

One of the advantages of these wraps is they are so darn cute that their pretty aesthetic distracts from the dodgy application! It's only my first time using Jamberry, so yes, I have bubbles, bad placement and excess around some of the edges. but I still love how eye-catching and gorgeous the designs are! I can't wait to give these another go, this time with sharp little scissors for neat trimming and a better eye for picking the correct width wrap for each nail!

  4. I've never tried the Jamberry wraps! They sound like they need a bit of practice to get right, kind of like using contact to cover the kids' school books for the first time! Haha!

Having said that I love the designs the Jamberry nail wraps come in so I'll have to give them a try I think!

    2. I think Di can speak from experience that I wasn't pushy. There's always going to be some bad apples on a tree guys. Expanding internationally can be pretty crazy. Everyone I've had the pleasure of dealing with in Australia has been fabulous. I just want to share an awesome product, no pressure. I genuinely care about my customers, and am here to make sure you guys have a great experience ;) Email me if I can help in any way cassy36@gmail.com

    3. Yes, the one pushy rep approached me on FB, nothing to do with Cassy, just to clear it up! Cassy, the Consultant I worked with was always very friendly, professional and really flexible considering how busy I was in September! Lovely to work with and I'd recommend her if anyone's interested in this product :)

  11. they are darn cute indeed!!! one thing I love about wraps are the patterns, I can never do any of it with nail polish! - I found mila kunis in jupiter ascending really irritating, it some how got voted as the best movie of the month at my partner's local dvd rental store. let me know what you think about primer and predestination after you watch it :D I'm hoping to see the martian at some point.. and straight outta compton.. apparently it's good.

I had only one sample wrap and gave it a try...found it worked really well.....but I didn't have 10 fingers to do or sizing to figure out etc..that could make it a bit more fiddly!
