Starring: Seth Rogen, Anna Faris, Ray Liotta, Michael Pena
Genre: Comedy
I was completely underwhelmed by this black comedy. I had been wanting to see it for quite some time and unfortunately, I think I had raised my expectations for it. Basically, bi-polar Mall Security Guard Ronnie Barnhardt (Rogen) is asked to stop a serial Mall flasher, but when he's unsuccessful, Police Detective Harrison (Liotta) is appointed instead. It's actually very reminiscent of 'Paul Blart: Mall Cop', but much heavier, bleaker and more violent. There are laugh out loud moments, and Seth Rogen does give a great performance in a challenging role. Anna Faris as vacuous bimbo Brandi, pretty much plays her normal role (think 'Just Friends'). Also a warning; the flasher's penis does feature repeatedly, so if you don't want to see no D&B you might want to give this one a miss! Apparently, Observe and Report is the lowest-grossing of all Seth Rogen starring films.
