Beauty Empties!

Hi guys! My empties (beauty products I've finished) have been building up and I want to throw them out, but obviously I can't until after I've blogged about them, so here goes!

Burt's Bees Pink Grapefruit Facial Cleansing Towelettes ~ or wipes as we call them in the real word! I quite enjoyed the pink grapefruit fragrance and would consider repurchasing these in the future.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin-Clearing Mattifying Toner ~ this was a tad harsh but I am addicted to tea tree products, especially toners (that smell!). The Lush one is gentler, I'd probably get that next.

Bobbi Brown EXTRA Lip Tint ~ this was nice, but the formula was a bit soft. As a result, I went through it quite quickly. I won it, so no plans to buy this in the future.

Lush Rose Jam Shower Gel ~ one of my all time favourite shower gels, I will always re-purchase this when it's available. You can't beat that delicious rosy aroma! I've reviewed it before here.

Oh Deer Sugar (Oh) Mango Sorbet Soda Pop Body Scrub ~ this was so enjoyable, from the fruity fragrance to the soft, creamy yet scrubby formula. My type of scrub, I'll definitely repurchase.

Korres Mango Lip Butter ~ another mango product! These Korres lip butters are delightful and I want to get more in the future, but I have way too many lip balms to get through right now.

Olay Total Effects 7 In 1 Day Cream ~ I used to purchase this over and over as I do love the results, but I've been using up moisturisers from my beauty cupboard lately. I'd love to get back to using this however!

Revlon Colorstay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin in Ivory ~ A Holy Grail foundation for me, but then the formula seemed to change and I started using Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Liquid foundation instead and fell in love with it! I still  use Colorstay when I need a long-lasting face.

Bobbi Brown Corrector in Porcelain Bisque ~ another Holy Grail product, see my review here. The absolute best thing I've found for concealing dark under eye circles, I will repurchase again and again.

Lush FUN in Pink ~ this came in the Lush Think Pink Gift hubby bought me. It was extremely soft and creamy and smelled great, but I went through it way too quickly. Will give it a miss.

Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm ~ the best solution to dry, chapped lips, I talked about this in my April Beauty Faves last month. I was kindly sent the Limited Edition Sugar Plum flavour* which comes in Unicorn packaging, check that out here.

GUESS 1981 Fragrance* ~ this perfume has such a feminine, sexy scent that I adore and I'm really bummed I've finished it! I've got a lot of other fragrances to use up however, so I won't be getting a new bottle. I reviewed it here.

Neutrogena Wet Skin Kids Sunscreen Spray ~ My son and I loved this! The spray application meant it was so quick and easy to apply and it soaked in really quickly. No plans to repurchase currently though as we have a few other sunscreens to get through.

Antipodes Hosanna H2O Skin-Plumping Serum ~ I love this so much I featured it in my April Beauty Favourites. I'm currently using my second bottle and will repurchase when it's on sale!

Redken Beach Envy Volume Texturising Conditioner* ~ conditioner take me so long to get through as I can only uses a tiny amount or my hair will go flat (yes, even with a volume conditioner, lol). This was nice, but I've got others in the cupboard to use now.

Rimmel #Insta Fix & Matte Translucent Powder* ~ I love this stuff and have already bought another. I'm a recent convert to translucent powder and now I'm wondering why I didn't try it sooner. I've reviewed it here.

I also threw out a disposable razor (not pictured) but I'm seriously considering purchasing a women's electric shaver in the future. I deserve it!

April Beauty Favourites!

Hi guys! It's been a long, hot minute since I've shared my current beauty favourites with you, hasn't it? Well fear not, because today's post is resplendent with my most-loved products. It's a faves fest. It's literally (not literally) raining wonderful products, so throw away your umbrella and enjoy the downpour!

Revlon Ultra HD Matte LipColor in Seduction
I was lucky enough to win a set of these from Revlon a while back, and I've been meaning to swatch them ever since. It has now become a matter of urgency as I'm getting so much use out of my favourite shade Seduction that it's running low! I naturally made a bee-line for the nudes in the range, and Seduction definitely seduced me! Besides the my-lips-but-better flattering shade, the formula is unexpected for a matte. It actually doesn't fully dry down, so there's no uncomfortable dry feeling. This does appear matte, but it's easy to wear and feels smooth and somewhat creamy on the lips. So if  you're normally put off matte lip products because of that familiar 'dry' feeling, definitely give this range a go!

Antipodes Hosanna H2O Skin Plumping Serum
I'm onto my second mini bottle of this little gem after first discovering it in a Priceline Skincare Gift Bag (with purchase). Happily, they included two bottles, so I haven't needed to purchase the full size version yet. I love using this under my eyes to plump out the area, as sometimes it can appear hollowed out, especially if I'm not getting enough sleep (I'm blaming my March Movie Challenge and Netflix in general for that!). I have considered using this all over my face, but I've got a few other serums I'm also currently using, and besides, I like to get tricky and target specific serums to specific areas of my face, to treat that area's issues! I'll definitely be purchasing this Antipodes miracle-worker (only a slight exaggeration) once I've finished mini bottle #2.

Bio-Oil*
I was sent a bunch of Bio-Oil* products many months ago, and I hadn't got around to singing their praises until now! It's basically a versatile, multi-tasking product that contains PurCellin Oil, which happens to smell ah-mazing. I have been using Bio-Oil liberally on my arms and legs, and this super-fast absorbing oil has been keeping my skin soft, smooth, supple and moisturised throughout the changing seasons. It's a great alternative for someone like me who dislikes rich moisturisers that take forever to sink in, or worse yet, leave a film on the surface of the skin. Bio-Oil is specialist skincare that treats scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone, ageing and dehydrated skin and is said to be a favourite for pregnant women wishing to improve the appearance of stretch marks. I love the light, non-greasy formula and the way it makes my skin feel after application.

Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm
As a beauty lover, I own a lot of different lip balms. Tinted, plain, flavoured, scented, stick form, pot form, with shimmer and without... you get the idea. However, when my lips are seriously chapped, dry or peeling, there's one I always reach for; my Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm. Aah that familiar fragrance (which some people are not fond of apparently!). It's like smelling your favourite meal cooking (in a completely non-edible, opposite of food type way). Comfort! And that's exactly what this hardworking baby provides for damaged lips. Comfort, nourishment and moisture. This little tub of goodness heals my lips quicker than anything else I've tried. I would have to say this is my Holy Grail lip balm. It's not the most exciting by any means, but when my pucker is being a right fucker, I'll whack on some Carmex because I know it works.

Skin Physics Advance Superlift Face Treatment Cream
After using this, I'm kicking myself for leaving it unopened in my beauty cupboard for so long. What else have I got in there? This cream is a delight from start to finish. It's a lightweight, luxurious-feeling, easily absorbed formula that feels amazing going on. It sits well under makeup (you do have to wait a few minutes for better results), so you can use it each morning, which is a big plus for me. And the results are excellent! My skin immediately looks plumper, younger, firmer and virtually line-free. It also seems to reduce pores, because when I wear makeup over this, my complexion appears more flawless and 'together' (if that makes sense) than when I wear another moisturiser underneath. If you're at all concerned with sagging skin, pores or fine lines/wrinkles, give this one a go!

Addicted 2 Lip Balm Half Price Haul!

Sadly, Addicted 2 Lip Balm closed shop on November 30, but not before offering daily progressive discounts off all stock. I scored 50% off the following products.....

HAULAGE:
Lanolips Lip Ointment in Dark Honey
Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm in Black Tea & Blackberry
DuWop Lip Venom Lip Plumper

Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm is an old favourite (reviewed here), but I was yet to try the Jack Black, Lanolips and DuWop brands. Well, it's a week after receiving these lip goodies and this lazy-arsed blogger still hasn't tried Lanolips or Jack Black, but I HAVE applied the DuWop Lip Venom, and I can say this plumper does give me impressive results, along with a moderate stinging feeling, that still doesn't surpass the living hell that is the intense hurty-sting of Too Faced Lip Injection.

Disclaimer: All products were purchased by me at half price. Not a sponsored post. I just love to shop.

Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Pink Lip Balm Review

I trialled this as part of a Beauty And Lace review group and loved it, so wanted to share my thoughts on this lovely product with you guys.

Features
* contains Vitamin E, Shea Butter and Aloe
* SPF 15
* slant tip
* sheer pink tint

Price
$8.99 (AUD)

Another great lip balm from Carmex! (See my review of the Original Flavour Carmex Moisturising Lip Balm here). I love the slanted tip, which makes application effortless. This baby glides on perfectly and feels fantastic on. There is a slight tingly sensation on the lips when you first apply it, much like you get with the Carmex Original pot of balm, but it's not unpleasant. This feeling fades away after a few minutes. My lips feel soft, hydrated and very moisturised after application, and I’ve found that this formula is quite long-wearing. I love that I’m not having to re-apply it every 10 minutes like some other lip balms.

The packaging is a small tube that can easily be thrown in my gym bag, makeup bag or in a side pocket of my handbag. The product is easily accessed by simply winding up from the base. I like that the lid shuts with a satisfying 'click' sound, so you know it’s secure and isn’t going to fall off and create an unholy mess in your handbag.

The shade looks quite dramatic in the tube, but wears as a subtle baby/soft pink that builds up slowly with more applications. The hand swatch below is after quite a few swipes; rest assured with only one swipe you get a very sheer pink hue. It’s very flattering; this is definitely something you could wear out. It’s not sticky or tacky like some lip glosses, instead providing a wearable, comfortable finish.

The ‘Ultra hydrating’ claim on the packaging is easily met. I’m really impressed by this pretty lip balm and would definitely purchase it in the future. Don't laugh but I spent ages trying to photograph my lips with this product on, and the below shot is the best of a bad lot. I just can't get the camera to focus in right when I'm taking a selfie. Sorry, guys!

Carmex Lip Balm Jar

rrp 6.95

This is a great lip balm because it's so versatile. Apparently it's a cult favourite! There's a tingly sensation on application, and the formula is very moisturising. It's a great treatment for chapped or dry lips, but because it goes on clear and with a slight gloss, you can also use it over lippy to give your lips a nice sheen. The little pot is ideal for popping in your handbag, or even for travelling.

I re-apply this often throughout the day, and it's really helped to heal my chapped lips. Another plus is it's quite inexpensive. YAY! Carmex contains "camphor and menthol in a base of cocoa butter and waxes" and it also has salicylic acid which provides gentle exfoliation. A great all-round balm that men can use too (the Original version, anyway!). It also comes in Cherry, which I have yet to try.
