Hi guys! I was so thrilled to attend the Launch Party of the revamped Lakes Bar on Saturday night! It's located within the Lakes Hotel at West Lakes, right on the lakefront. The views across the water are stunning, and as the sun set, this was the place to be!
Hartway pumped out the tunes at just the right volume; no shouting to be heard or straining to hear conversations required. The live music really set the tone for an amazing evening filled with eats, drinks and beats!
I met the lovely ladies from Mercy Me Marketing who were so friendly and welcoming! I also met a few new folks and relished the opportunity to chat and get to know them.
Let's talk drinks! We were treated to an impressive array of alcoholic drinks on the night. There were beers, wines and gin cocktail/mixers (made from SA produced gins) to choose from. My recommendation if you're visiting Lakes Bar is to try their gin cocktails, you won't be disappointed! You can choose to mix and match from a list of garnishes or go with their recommended garnish combinations, it's up to you! Even though the bar area was quite full, I was always served quickly and with a friendly smile from the bar staff. You can't ask for more than that.
Still talking gin (lol, no I'm not obsessed), the drinks menu boasted the following options:
~ Ambra Lime Blush
~ 78 Degree, Peppercorn & Lemon
~ KI Wild Gin, Green Apple & Thyme
My absolute favourite was the Ambra Lime Blush gin cocktail, which citrus lovers will enjoy! It was pink, pretty, fruity and delicious, and I'll just say I had a few. If this is sounding a bit girly, don't worry. Lakes Bar has sport lovers covered with a giant 195 inch HD super screen, so you don't have to miss a minute of the footy action.
From the mini beetroot tarts, to delicious dumplings, tiny squares of juicy pork belly with crunchy crackling and cherry tomato & bocconcini skewers, the finger food was outstanding as well.
I had a wonderful night and will definitely be returning for another Ambra Lime Blush!
