Priceline 50% Off HairCare Haul

Hi guys! Super quick post today, just outlining what I got in the 50% Off HairCare Priceline Sale last week! My main goal with these sales is to stock up on my staple products, because there's no better time to buy them, but I have to say, I occasionally throw caution to the wind and use the opportunity to try something new. How do you shop the half price sales?

Products Bought
~ Schwarzkopf Super Styling Lacquer
~ 2 x Batiste XXL Volume Spray (could only fit one in the photo)!
~ Hair Recipe Strawberry & Mint Cleanse Shampoo
~ L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Shampoo
~ L'Oreal Preference Hair Colour in Light Rose Gold

The Schwarzkopf hairspray and Batiste volume sprays are both staples in my haircare routine, so I had to snap them up. I love using the Hair Recipe cleanse shampoo as a first shampoo to remove any built-up product, before going in with a volume shampoo. I've gone back to the Fibralogy thickening shampoo but I've got a horrible feeling it's being discontinued (which always happens with my favourite finds!). The reason I think this is because my quest to buy the accompanying L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Serum was quite a difficult one! Everywhere I looked didn't stock it and the other products from the Fibralogy range were getting low too. I eventually found one serum at a supermarket, but I don't like my chances of picking it up again. The two Pricelines I went to didn't have it, and their Fibralogy shampoo and conditioner stock was super low. And lastly, I bought a new Preference hair colour. My roots are dark at the moment, so I'm going to have to lighten everything up first or this just won't work. I'm interested to see what rose gold comes out like though!

HAUL: Priceline 50% Off Haircare!

Hi guys! I haven't blogged in nearly two weeks but I'm back! Truth be told, my March Movie Challenge damn near killed me! It took up so much time and I was sleep deprived to the max during March. Blog post on my results to come, but for now I want to share my haircare haul from last week's Priceline 50% off sale. I went in for one thing, dry shampoo, and came out with a bunch more! But when the total is only $29 and I saved myself a heap on products I'll definitely use, I'm not bothered. Let's see what I got!

Batiste Stylist XXL Volume Spray
I am so on the fence about this product! Batiste recently discontinued my favourite dry shampoo, their XXL Volume one, and replaced it with this. I really need a dry shampoo that will give my fine hair maximum volume; this does give great volume, but it's not a dry shampoo. It's apparently a 'backcomb spray' designed to 'oomph your locks'. However, the build-up from this spray is an absolute Bitch, and as a result I bought the....

Hair Recipe Strawberry & Mint Cleanse Shampoo
I put a call out on my Insta Stories for a great clarifying shampoo to combat product build up, and one helpful person (I can't recall who) suggested this fruity sounding baby. This is meant to 'detox your scalp and hair for a fresh clean feel' and I seriously hope it manages to get all the product out of my tresses, because it sucks to get out of the shower then notice your hair isn't properly clean. It was quite expensive, so I'm glad it was half price!

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Super Styling Lacquer
I love this stuff and buy it all the time! It's my go-to hairspray and basically never lets me down!

I've nearly finished this Hask Coconut Oil tube

Hask Argan Oil Healing Shine Hair Treatment
I was a bit bummed that Priceline had such a limited range of these little tubes of wonder to be honest! I've nearly finished my Coconut Oil one (pictured above) and really wanted to try a few different oils from the range, but had to settle on the Argan Oil variety. I'll see how I go with it!

Garnier Fructis Full & Luscious Shampoo
This contains volumising Fibra-cylane and Pomegranate and promises to thicken hair. I've been using shampoo and conditioner from my beauty cupboard for what seems like years, and haven't had to actually buy any new products, so I've actually forgotten which volumising shampoos I like! I'm going to have to start all over again trying them out lol. Fun times!

Dominate Fiber
This is a styling paste that gives a high hold textured look and thickens with caffeine and yes, it's for men! I didn't see that until I got home, as I was rushing in-store because the husband was waiting for me. I basically saw that this purports to provide a thickening boost, and would be ideal for scrunching a small amount into either the length of my hair or ponytail to hold a volumised wave style in place for longer. I've already tried this out and like it!

A Beauty-Full Haul!

I'll preface this by saying I don't go into the city much. So when I take the hour long bus ride into town (on a school day, no less!), I make the most of it. This includes writing a huge list of everything I want to buy, where to get it and even the order in which to shop! Yes, I maximize my shopping time by prioritizing and putting everything in the most efficient order, so I'm not doubling back. I only had two hours to get all this plus buy my husband a Valentine's Day gift, as I was meeting him for lunch, then needed to be on the return bus so I could pick up my son from school. I'm happy with everything I got, although I would have liked to get a new perfume in the Priceline 'up to 60% off fragrances' sale, but I didn't like anything I sniffed!

I'd been wanting to try something from Natura Siberica ever since reading about the brand on beauty blogs and I'm fresh out of body scrub, so the Natura Siberica Oblepikha And Honey Body Scrub was a no-brainer. Look at that pretty packaging! I've had a sniff and it smells amazing, too! Plus I wanted a new mascara, and Maybelline Masterliner is my everyday eyeliner, so I was pretty thrilled to find this Maybelline Colossal Go Extreme Leather Black Mascara with bonus Masterliner Cream Pencil pack! This little haul was from Chemist Warehouse.

I had two Priceline Sister Club discount vouchers to use (yay!) so bought a pack of Schwarzkopf Blonde Ultime in Xtra Light Cool Blonde (marked down to $8.00) and Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Toner. I still hadn't reached my voucher value so added a couple of lippies, Essence lipstick in 01 Coral Calling and Savvy by DB lipstick in Guava. With my two vouchers, everything came to $4.70 YES!

I visited The Body Shop with the purpose of smelling their Italian Summer Fig scent (quite nice!) and getting a Born Lippy in Strawberry. I used to wear this every day at school when I was a teenager. Major nostalgia hit! I still love it. I looked in their sale section (of course) and found the strange but alluring Colour Crush Lipstick in 301 Drive Me Nuts. It's a brown shimmer and will be hit or miss (can't wait to try it) but at only $4.95, down from $21.95, I had to take the chance! ~ Edit~ it looks great blotted down on the lips and I even like it blended on the outer edges of my lids as an eyeshadow!

I was so excited to finally check out Oh Deer Sugar in Regent Arcade! It's very similar to Lush, but all the products are vegan and handmade in my hometown, little ol' Adelaide. After sniffing nearly everything I couldn't pass up the Fruit Tingle Body Scrub. I got a little piece of gingerbread bubble bar as a free sample, too!

Being the stationery addict I am, I had to get another three Typo A5 Spinout Notebooks. I write pages of notes, lists, ideas, recipes, blog ideas etc every day and go through these notebooks so quickly. I love their three for $10 deal.

I'm joining in with the Fabulous And Fun Life Monday Makeup Madness Linky Party!

Priceline 40% Off HairCare Haul!

I think I may singlehandedly be keeping Priceline in business with the amount of money I've been giving them lately! There was my Cosmetics Bag GWP Haul and hubby threw some cash their way to get me Lady Gaga's Fame, YSL's Parisienne and Katy Perry's Royal Revolution for Mother's Day in their fragrance sale, too. And there's still the Skincare GWP to go!

Let's talk HairCare, though. My hair has been giving me a fair bit of grief lately. It's naturally fine, but lately it's becoming increasingly difficult to inject some volume into it. I need to cut an inch or so off, as that usually gives me a little more body, but I'm getting frustrated with how flat and lifeless it appears. I use volume shampoo, conditioner and mousse plus various root booster sprays and thickening lotions, so I'm really throwing everything at it and I'm just not getting the results I used to. So I used the 40% off sale as an opportunity to buy a bunch of volumising products (plus a few extras) in the hopes of finding something that works well for me. Fingers crossed that something in this massive haul is a miracle worker!

Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume (x 2) - my favourite ever dry shampoo because it gives me extra volume from the roots. When this goes on special, I stock up, as it's a staple in my hair styling routine. Check out my mini-review here.

Batiste Dry Shampoo Light & Blonde - I use dry shampoo every day, so I go through it fairly fast. I've tried this before and just decided to get this to mix things up a bit.

L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Serum - I've gone through about four bottles of this, and when used daily, I can easily finish a bottle in a few weeks. If it's on special I'll get it, because it's a lovely product that does give my hair body, providing I scrunch it through properly. I'm not loving it as much as I used to, though, going by this post where it made my Favourites last year!

L'Oreal Elvive Fibralogy Thickening Shampoo - Another repurchase, because this one is quite good. I do have a fair few bottles of shampoo in the cupboard waiting to be used up at the moment though!

Fudge Root Juice - this is a 'medium hold root booster for extra volume and grunt'. I will give anything a go that claims to provide body from the roots and I'm loving a few other Fudge products at the moment, so hopefully this is just as good.

VO5 MattClay - I included one product for hubby, because it makes me feel slightly less guilty about this huge haul! I can also use this on my son's hair, so it was a no-brainer.

VO5 Give Me Texture Tousled Style Spray - I still don't know if texture is a good idea when you have fine hair, as you don't want it to go too piecey, but I'll give this a go. I'm thinking it will be similar to salt spray.

Toni & Guy Glamour 3D Volumiser - this sounds promising. I'm expecting miraculous results from this 'volume boost with a spritz of shine' spray. No pressure or anything!

Pantene Light Detangling Spray - I'll only need to use this right before I wash my hair. That's when it's at its tangliest. I don't blame it, with multiple days worth of dry shampoo, serums, various sprays and lacquer through it!

Schwarzkopf Ultime Sea Salt Texture Spray - I just finished off my Tigi Catwalk Session Series Salt Spray and thought I'd try this as a replacement. Schwarzkopf is a good brand and all salt sprays would be pretty similar ingredient-wise, wouldn't they?

I'm joining up with the Fabulous And Fun Life MakeUp Linky Party. Join in!

REVIEW: Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Biotin Volume Shampoo and Conditioner

I received these hair products to trial from BeautyHeaven, so I thought I'd also share my thoughts here.

Products:
Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Biotin Volume Shampoo
Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Biotin Volume Conditioner

Schwarzkopf say: "The unique formula with biotin-complex provides up to 80% more volume and fullness with feather-light effect. Essence Ultime contains a precious Ultime-4-Complex; a unique combination of pearl essence, panthenol, refined protein & keratin. Indulge your hair with luxurious care. Experience Claudia Schiffer's beauty secret."

These products were specifically designed for people with fine, flat hair (which I have!), so I was very excited to be accepted into this trial. I'm always on the look out for hair products and treatments that claim to give me volume, body, fullness and thickness.

First of all, the packaging is good. The bottles are slim and slide easily into my shower caddy, leaving plenty of room for a multitude of other products! The flip-top lid is easy to open and the hole dispenses a good amount of product, which comes out easily. The instructions and product information is stated clearly on the bottle, and is easy to read.

The fragrance is the high point of these products for me. I love it. It's subtle and lovely and almost like a beautiful perfume, leaving my hair smelling delicious.

Shampoo
Unfortunately, I haven't seen very much of a difference in terms of voluminous results, (maybe just a slight difference). My hair does look and feel healthier overall, though. I don't feel as though the product lifted my hair at the roots as it claims on the bottle. I normally use a volume shampoo and conditioner then follow up with a thickening foam (Sebastian Thickefy Foam) and scrunch while blowdrying, as I really need to do everything I can to avoid limp locks, but I skipped the thickening foam for this trial because I wanted to see how the product performed on its own. Maybe this is why my hair didn't look thicker and fuller, maybe my (admittedly expensive) thickening foam normally does a really good job. But I wanted to give these products a fair trial. I am pleased, however, that my hair seems healthier. As I say, it looks a tiny bit fuller, but I would have liked more volume at the roots.

Conditioner
As a person with very fine, thin hair, I'm usually wary of conditioners, as applying too much or leaving it in for too long will mean flat as a tack hair for me until the next wash. Having said that, I did experiment with applying different amounts of conditioner throughout my trial. It says to leave it in shortly, which I do anyway, so I was happy to not be directed to leave it on for any stretch of time. The product is a good consistency and isn't super-thick or excessively runny.
I like the way my hair felt after using the conditioner. My hair looked and felt healthier, but only appeared slightly fuller. As with the shampoo, I was hoping for more volume, especially at the roots. I did notice that despite the bottle saying "feather-light combing detangling" my hair still was tangled, as always (even using my Tangle Teezer, which significantly reduces pulling during combing, and is great for people like me who suffer from quite tangly hair). My hair looks silky and smooth and slightly thicker than normal, but overall, the product didn't really wow me. I'm happy that it looks and appears to be healthier, though. That can never be a bad thing!

Disclaimer: These products were provided for review on site as part of the Trial Team. No money was offered or accepted. This review is my honest opinion.

August Empties: Because I Can-Can!

I should say Can-Can-Can-Can, because that's how many cans feature in this Empties post. Way too many, making it boring as bat-shit. So I photographed them on one of my son's painting, to BRIGHTEN the whole thing up. I hope I finish something exciting this month!

Nivea Pearl & Beauty Anti-Perspirant Deodorant
Death by excessive Nivea fumes. Will not repurchase.

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Conditioner
(with a 'fusion of Wild Violet & Pomegranate'). LOVE this and will buy it again when it goes on special, because I'm cheap like that. This smells divine and leaves my hair soft, smooth and relatively untangled.

Lancome Genifique Youth Activator
Possibly the only free sample that has been brilliant enough to make me want to purchase the whole product. Ever. Because I'm cheap and not easily swayed. I used this every day under my moisturiser and I swear I could see my skin get younger looking. Lancome have recently dropped their prices on this range too, so I might have to bite the bullet. But you know I'll try to win one first :)

Nivea Double Effect Anti-Perspirant
This contains Avocado Extract for smoother underarms, but I never noticed a difference. Will not repurchase.

Toni & Guy Cleanse Dry Shampoo
I'm shocked that I'm starting to go off this! I'm pretty sure I recently blogged this as a favourite. What a psycho I am. Either my hair is becoming increasingly difficult to refresh between washes, or this stuff is not working as well as other dry shampoos like Batiste and Klorane, which I think I'll buy next, instead of T&G Cleanse.

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Super Styling Lacquer
Y'all know this is my favourite hairspray ever. I've harped on about it enough before. A staple product for me.

Feel free to link up your Empties Posts in the comments below!

June Beauty Favourites!

Here are seven beauty products I used obsessively last month. So much so, that the Clinique Chubby Stick is almost gone. Sad face.

1/  Clinique Chubby Stick in Whole Lotta Honey
My one and only Chubby, Whole Lotta Honey, is nearly kaput. I will most certainly be getting another Chubby, such is the luxurious feel of this moisturising lip balm from Clinique. My only problem? What colour to try next!

2/  Benefit Thrrrob
This powder blush from one of my favourite brands, Benefit, is subtle and oh so pretty. A musky pink that makes me smile!

3/  L'Occitane Dry Skin Hand Cream
I'm onto my final sample-sized tube of this gorgeous hand cream, and I will certainly miss it when it's gone. It absorbs super-quickly and leaves my skin soft, nourished and lightly fragranced.

4/  The Body Shop Candied Ginger Lip Balm
Ginger can be potent and overpowering, but this lip balm is delicious and addictive! Not that I eat it, of course. The texture is just right and it feels lovely on.

5/  Schwarzkopf Instant Volume Powder
This works really well on my fringe to give it a bit of volume in the morning. Sprinkle, rub in, style and spray and my hair instantly looks fuller.

6/  Clinique Anti-Fatigue Cooling Eye Gel
Yes, it's from the mens range, and no, I don't have a penis, but I tried it and I like it. So there. Seriously, this is working wonders for my dark circles and eye bags, really brightening and lifting the area. I am so impressed by this product, I never want this to run out.

7/  Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude
Revlon is fast becoming my favourite lipstick brand, and I reckon I've collected about 20 recently. This glides on effortlessly and the pretty nude shade is to die for. I find I'm reaching for this lippie every day, it's just so flattering.

Disclaimer: I won the Clinique Eye Gel, all other products were either bought by me or included as a freebie with purchase. All opinions are my own.

April/May Empties: Mega Editiion!

I've decided to combine my Empties from the last two months together into one giant post. Many of these are regular Empties products so I won't bore you with my thoughts on those. Let the Emptiness begin!

The Body Shop Papaya Body Scrub
O. M. G. I bought this in Singapore for half price. Best buy ever! The aroma was sensational and the scratchy exfoliating bits knocked my socks off. SO satisfying. Alas, this is no longer available to buy in Australia (I checked with The Body Shop staff). Although, they said try eBay. This product alone has totally got me hooked on body scrubs. Let me know in the comments your favourite body scrub!

Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly Shampoo
I love this! It's infused with Wild Violet and Pomegranate. Smells great and my hair actually looked good after use. I will probably buy this again once I use up all my other shampoos.

Colgate Max White One Toothpaste
Again, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm no Dentist, but this seemed like an exfoliant for the teeth! It contains little particles that help remove stains. It claims to give you whiter teeth in one week, but I actually noticed whiter teeth after one use. Maybe my teeth are just that bad. LOL. I got two tubes for free, so I'm now on my second tube, and will probably buy (shock, horror!) one when it runs out.

Garnier Fructis Fortifying Conditioner
I wasn't really impressed with the results from this and I won't get it again. Probably not the conditioner's fault, as I need hair products aimed at fine hair, something that will give me volume. Shit know why I bought something with the word 'Normal' on it! Maybe this is hubbys? LOL.

Pantene Pro-V Aqua Light Conditioner
This is a "lightweight nourishing" conditioner that is supposed to give you "hair that is beautifully nourished with virtually no weight". Apparently the Aqua Light range was developed with a low-suds formula, because when the product is not rinsed out properly (due to too many bubbles) it can weigh the hair down. Personally, this conditioner (in conjunction with the shampoo) left my hair squeaky clean. But to the point where it was really difficult to brush (ie, it left my hair tangled). I already have really tangly hair, so this may or may not be related to the Aqua Light formula.

Sunsilk Plumped Up Volume Hairspray
So I saw the words "volume thickening and flexible hold hairspray" and I thought YES, this is for me. I am on a never-ending quest for volume and thickened locks. However, I was mighty disappointed when this bastard sprayed out huge bubbles into my hair. WTF? I have never had this happen with my usual Schwarzkopf Super Styling Lacquer. So I shook that fucker like buggery and STILL got huge bubbles. Lucky I know the emergency fix: blast it with the hairdryer until the bubbles disappear. As a result, I cannot use this in my fringe, however I can use it in my ponytail and kind of scrunch it after spraying. I won't be buying this again.

Schwarzkopf EC Ultimate Repair Shampoo
I won this range of products, but it's not really suited to my hair type. It contains 3 x liquid keratin which is more suited to very dry hair. For me, it just made my hair lank and lifeless. If your hair is mega-damaged, the injection of moisture this provides would be a godsend. Luckily, just about every product works fine on my husband's hair, because I've given him this range to use, too.

Sunsilk Frizz & Weather Defence Shampoo
I have absolutely no recollection of using this, so I better not comment. In the interest of fairness.

Olay Total Effects Cream Cleanser
Love it! I've previously covered this product here

Schwarzkopf EC Super Styling Lacquer
My favourite hairspray ever. Thoughts on it here

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush & Fresh
Adore these! I've blogged about them before here  and here and here

March Empties

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical
Adore it! Great for refreshing your hair between washes and adding volume to your locks. I've blogged about this before, most notably here

Garnier Pure Active Blackhead Clearing Scrub
I've gone off this scrub a little bit since starting with Soap & Glory's Scrub Your Nose In It, but I still enjoy it and its strong stench! You can read my previous post on this product here

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
Love this! It's just an all round great product and I'm sad I've finished it. Luckily, I also won a travel-sized version from a Facebook competition, so I'll now be starting on that. Here is my review of this gentle Microfoliant.

Nivea Invisible 48 Hour Anti-Perspirant
Honestly, I can't distinguish between all the deodorants/anti-perspirants I'm using lately. All I know is that since joining the gym, I am going through A LOT of deodorant!

Garnier Invisi Mineral 48 Hour Deodorant
See above. I think they forgot the rest of the word. Invisi??

Schwarzkopf EC Push Up Volume Shampoo
I quite liked this volume shampoo from Schwarzkopf, and as you all probably know by now, I will try anything to get some body into my hair. To be honest, though, the results were OK, but not mind-blowing. I'm actually preferring the Herbal Essences Tousle Me Softly products I've moved on to.

Dove Beauty Cream Bar
This is a pampering soap, that feels luxurious and lathers really well. It's very moisturising, and leaves my skin feeling soft and clean. I think the Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Cream Bar is better, but I'm biased because of my addiction to exfoliating products.

What did you finish in March?

February Empties with Mini Reviews

Oh Hai! It's been a while, but here I am with my February Empties (the products I finished in February) with Mini Reviews of each product. Without further ado.....

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Super Styling Lacquer in Extreme Hold
My favourite ever hairspray. Distributes well and provides superior hold without looking stiff or terribly unnatural. The cans in this range are colour-coded, so even if I don't remember what level of hold I prefer, all I have to remember is to get the purple one!

Rexona Women Confidence Anti-Perspirant
This claims to be 'body responsive' and '48+ hours'. It has a great big pink tick on the front, which I guess beats a red cross AND let's hubby know it's mine. This performed adequately, however excluding beauty bloggers specifically trialling long-lasting deodorants, I don't know a single person who would skip spraying on the second day in the hopes their anti-perspirant actually met the 48+ hour claim. I find the + to be a bit cheeky. MORE than 2 days? Say WHAT?!

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Diva and Tropical
Love this dry shampoo. Diva (described on the can as 'heady oriental') is probably my second favourite fragrance, after Tropical. Tropical kind of smells like coconut and pineapple (the can describes it as 'exotic'). This product doesn't make my hair go white like some dry shampoos, and really soaks up oils between washes, leaving my hair looking clean and full of body. Easy to use, great size (you could throw it in your bag for after the gym) and the cans are colourful and cute!

Maybelline FitMe Concealer in Fair Clair
I was a bit sceptical, at first, of a concealer that claims to 'let the real you come through'. If I wanted that, I wouldn't be applying concealer in the first place! However, it's actually a really great concealer. The consistency is creamy, the doe-foot applicator is easy to use and the results lasts all day without caking. It's easily blendable and feels lightweight on the skin. It's by no means the best concealer on the market, but for the price ($14.95), it performs well. Available in 6 shades, although I have found Light hard to come across.
Apparently, it's the "exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments that match the skin tone effortlessly, creating a complexion that is free of waxes and oils, allowing skin's natural highs and lows to show through". This product would be well-suited to teenage girls just starting to use makeup, and women with minor blemishes who just need a little bit of extra coverage.
Note that the black writing and markings on the outer packaging of the tube rubs off quite easily with use, until you are left with a clear tube, like me!

Have you used any of these products? What did you think?

September Empties

Another month, another load of empties. I actually really enjoy blogging my empties, because it forces me to use up my products so I've got something to blog about! Today, I started organising all my unused prodz into categories so I can store them better and I am SHOCKED at how much shit I have!

L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss Conditioning Colour in 910 Light Iced Blonde
This was a hassle to use, compared to the home colours I've used in the past. There's a perforated bit where you pop the cardboard box out and you are supposed to stand the container up in it to mix the other stuff in. Sorry I'm being to vague, I've thrown the instructions out and I don't know the names to refer to! Also, after I broke the top off the bottle and squeezed some out, it came out crooked and went near my eye. Not good! I think I just had a bad day with this colour, because I've used a lot of different brands and types in the past and this has never happened before. The result wasn't too bad, not brilliant though, and I do have to use blonde toner or my hair looks a bit orangey. I will be looking to purchase a completely different colour in the future.

Dove Gentle Exfoliating Beauty Cream Bar
Love this soap and have blogged about it previously here

Toni & Guy Volume Conditioner
I wasn't a massive fan of this conditioner. It didn't really seem to make my hair fuller or more volumous. It does take a lot to get body into my fine hair, though.

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap
I quite enjoyed this mild cleanser from Clinique. It was very gentle and did the job although it's definitely not the best facial soap I've ever used.

Guinot Gommage Grain D'Eclat (Gentle Face Exfoliating Cream)
I was so disappointed with this exfoliator! It had an unpleasant aroma, minimal exfoliating particles and left a horrible, grimy residue on my face after I'd washed it off. If I'm to compare fancy French brands, my Payot stuff is winning hands down!

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Liquid Silk Shampoo, Conditioner & SOS Repair Treatment
These mini-sized products were from a travel kit I won and they were just lovely. They almost smelled of fairy floss or coconut ice. I enjoyed the silky smooth results I achieved from these products. They conditioned my hair well, and left it shiny and soft. I'd definitely purchase these with my own money in the future.

** L'Oreal, Dove, and Toni & Guy were purchased by me, Clinique, Guinot and Schwarzkopf I won.

June Empties

If you're new at Empties (like I was until recently), it refers to the products that beauty bloggers finish. For some weird reason, it's fascinating to peek inside someone else's bathroom and see what products they've been using. Here are the ones I finished in June.

Schwarzkopf Extra Care Super Styling Lacquer Extreme Hold
This is a staple in my bathroom, a product I've been using for years. My favourite ever hairspray.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Tropical
You probably all know I'm a massive fan of dry shampoo, and this is my second favourite, after Toni & Guy Dry Shampoo. This works well and has a lovely, refreshing scent.

St Ives Moisturizing Olive Scrub
This scrub was so-so on my face, not really up to the standard I've set for a face scrub, so I used practically the whole thing as a body scrub. I really loved it as a body exfoliant, because it was very moisturising and left my skin feeling soft and gently exfoliated. It's just not the type of product I want to use on my face, though.

Yves Saint Laurent Paris Eau De Toilette
I'm so sad I've finished this, my favourite perfume ever. But luckily I can now start on the smaller version hubby bought me. WOO!

Head & Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo
This was a free sample I procured from somewhere. I have no idea if its any good at reducing dandruff 'cos I dont have it. But it was free and I used it. Not something I'll be buying in the future. Even the name 'Head & Shoulders' kind of freaks me out. Hehe.

Bellaboo All That Clean Skin Facial Wash
This came in a set of Bellaboo products I won some time ago. It's actually a cute little wash, clearly aimed at teenage girls. The scent was quite pleasant, and it did a satisfactory job on my face.

A'kin Rose & Geranium Cleanser & Toner in One
Quite a nice creamy cleanser. I'm not in love with it though, and probably won't repurchase. Quite a small size, so it may have come in a trial pack of A'kin products. I can't really remember where I got it from.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter
This smelled gorgeous and was so creamy to apply. Loved the consistency and the way it absorbed quite quickly and left my skin feeling luxurious. This was part of a pack given to employees as a Christmas gift about four years ago, right before I left work, so it has held up really well over time. It's been sitting in my bathroom for years, half-used (poor thing!); I'm really glad I rediscovered it. I may go and look at other Body Butter varieties from The Body Shop, because it's a great product.
