Gaja by Sashi Restaurant Launch!

Gaja by Sashi
4/86 Pirie Street
Adelaide 5000

Hi guys! A few weeks ago I attended the Launch of Gaja by Sashi in Adelaide. Hands up all the Masterchef fans! You'll remember Sashi Cheliah as the Winner of Season 10 of Masterchef Australia, and what a deserving winner he was. Sashi had a vision of opening a small cafe in Adelaide, but after being crowned the winner, this dream changed to what we have today, a fully fledged restaurant with bar, in the heart of the Adelaide.

GAJA in sanskrit means 'elephant', which symbolises strength, wisdom, royalty and solidarity in Hindu culture. This is apt given that Sashi's food is bold and bursting with robust flavour! With dishes on the Gaja menu spanning Indian, Singaporean and Malaysian cuisines, there's sure to be something to suit all tastes. You can check out the menu here.

Sashi's background in law enforcement is evident, with the birdcage section of the restaurant dedicated to rehabilitation. Also on display is his famed Masterchef white jacket, a bit of nostalgia for you to check out when you go and visit! Gaja by Sashi is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday. Follow them on Instagram to keep up to date!

Also keep an eye out in Woolworths for Sashi's new line of Home Chef Kits called Sashi's Secret. The Sweet and Sour Pork and the Singaporean Chilli Prawn both sound delicious and I can't wait to give them a go!

Many thanks to Girl About Town for the invitation.

The Lost Deli New Vegan Menu Launch!

The Lost Deli
38 Charles Street
Norwood SA

Changing the health of the world, one mushroom burger at a time.' - Lost Deli

Hi guys! Recently I attended the launch of The Lost Deli's new vegan menu! The Lost Deli is a cute and cosy little delicatessen hidden down a side street off The Parade in Norwood. Having experienced a wonderful night there I can say it's truly one of Adelaide's hidden gems, especially for vegetarians and vegans. I'm not vegan (or vegetarian!) but I thought the 100% plant-based dishes were full of flavour and super tasty. Chef Jordan has created some really inspiring and delicious dishes that make you feel healthy when you eat them. That's a win win!

The dishes we sampled on the night were:

~~ Starters ~~
Pea and Broad Bean Salad with Roasted Hazelnuts, Fresh Herbs & Almond Fetta topped with Herb Oil and Parmesan

~~ Entree ~~
Beetroot Tartare with Horseradish Cashew Cream, Seasoned Rye Toast & Micro Herbs

~~ Mains ~~
Romesco Roast Cauliflower with Romesco Sauce, Herbed Pearl Barley, Preserved Lemon & Green Olive

~~ Dessert ~~
Jaffa Mousse with Maple Honeycomb, Cashew & Date Crumb and Orange Syrup

Wines were provided by A Fanciful Notion Wine, a socially conscious South Australian wine company. Their Quiet Revolution variety is vegan-friendly, whilst Whimsy is small batch quality wine.

The Lost Deli also have delights such as Mushroom Gnocchi (pan-fried wild mushrooms, garden peas and asparagus in a mushroom broth) and juices which are made with seasonal organic locally sourced fresh fruit. Also be sure to check out the specials when you visit! The cakes in the window, such as the peanut butter and chocolate mini loaf with miso peanut praline look so tempting. I can't wait to return and try some with a coffee!

On November 30, The Lost Deli and Markus Hamence will be hosting a Plants, Pasta and Prosecco Night which sounds rather exciting! You can check out the details of that Event on Facebook here.

The Lost Deli are open 7:30am-4pm Tuesday - Friday and 9am-4pm Saturday and Sunday. Keep an eye on their socials for dinner sessions which you must book for.

Many thanks to Mercy Me Marketing for the invitation.

Priceline Skincare Gift Bag!

Hi guys! I caved and got the Priceline Skincare Gift Bag deal again. I honestly cannot resist this every time it comes around, even though I don't need any of the skincare inside the bag lol! This time you qualified by spending at least $69 in-store or online on skincare, suncare or tanning across participating brands and in return you could pick up the free skincare bag valued at over $170. This offer was valid between the 25th of October and the 6th of November, so it's already over but I wanted to let you guys know what was inside anyway, so you get a good idea of contents for when Priceline do the next Skincare Gift Bag Gift With Purchase.

The participating brands included a lot of my favourites which really helped, including Dr LeWinns, La Roche-Posay, Skin Republic, Skin Physics, Antipodes and Olay.

First up is my qualifying spend, and anyone would think I have an eye mask fetish? I decided to go bat shit cray cray on the eye masks and get one of everything pretty much! I also used the opportunity to buy a back up of my favourite Antipodes serum, which was discounted. The good thing about these deals is that the participating brands are usually all on sale, so you're saving money and getting your freebie! I got.....

Qualifying Spend
~ Antipodes Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin Plumping Serum
~ A'kin Rose Mist Toner
~ 2 x Skin Republic 24K Gold Aquagel Under Eye Patch
~ Skin Republic Brightening Eye Mask
~ Skin Republic Collagen Hydrogel Under Eye Patch
~ Skin Republic Fast Fix 5 Minute Under Eye Mask
~ Skin Republic Retinol Hydrogel Under Eye Patch

Now onto the actual bag contents. Sometimes I'm a bit disappointed when I look through the contents, but every time I reached in and pulled out a product, I was like 'YES, I can use that'! I'm really impressed with this selection of skincare goodies and am so happy I got the bag. Here's what was inside....

Bag Contents
~ Swisse Micellar Makeup Remover (300ml)
~ Sukin Blemish Control Clearing Facial Wash (125ml)
~ La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water Sensitive Skin (50ml)
~ Andalou Naturals Coconut Milk Youth Firm Night Cream (50g)

Overall this is a great bag in my opinion, especially with the weather warming up! Plenty of sunscreen, a lip balm, wipes and micellar water which I constantly use plus some interesting face masks and various creams. Well done, Priceline!

Sunday Sessions at The Holdy!

The Holdy
83 Brighton Road
Glenelg SA

Hi guys! Recently I was lucky enough to attend the Launch of the Sunday Sessions at The Holdy, an iconic pub in the Bay (Glenelg in South Australia for the non-locals), and it was such a chilled-out, fun filled afternoon. Held in the hotel's delightful Beer Garden, the Sunday Sessions are nautical-themed, so the area was decorated with anchors, ring buoys and absolutely no pirates! Being so close to the beach, this is the perfect theme, especially with the weather heating up and the fresh sea air to take in.

The Sessions start from 2pm every Sunday and run right through 'til the end of February, and they boast some amazing drink specials, including $6 Two Suns pints, $7 Grey Goose and $8 Spritz! I tried the Pink Gin, Grand Fizz and Aperol Spritz and all three drinks were refreshing and delicious. I'm sure The Holdy will be adding more Summer cocktails in coming weeks, so be sure to keep an eye on their Instagram, as you don't want to miss out on their Specials!

The food was absolutely on point too. I'm not the biggest fan of seafood, so the fact that I was in heaven over the melt-in-your-mouth salt and pepper squid is a testament to how well it was cooked. We also sampled crispy spring rolls, yummy mini pizza slices and of course the amazing grazing table (which was just for the launch). I enjoyed lunch at The Holdy with my family a few months ago, though, and the meals were fantastic. I remember thinking the kids meal sizes were generous and the garlic bread was super tasty!

The live music added to the chilled out feel for me, which was perfect. I'm sure some people were buzzing with energy, especially watching the talented Simmsy on drums, but I was super content just to catch up with bloggers, chat with friends and enjoy delicious food and cocktails. Speaking music, upcoming guests include Senor Sanchez on November 17, Audioporn on the decks and Simmsy on the drums on December 1, and DJ Souli on November 24 and December 15.

So now you know where your new Summer hang out spot is, Adelaide! Be sure to grab your friends and hit up Sundays Sessions at The Holdy, where you can get your good vibes on and get a little bit Nauti!

Many thanks to Girl About Town for the invitation.
