Rexona Women Clinical Protection Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Review

Rexona say: The product is "formulated with revolutionary TRIsolid body responsive technology which contains three important components:

* Clinical strength wetness and odour protection
* Patented encapsulated odour-fighting technology
* skin moisturising ingredient, formulated to reduce skin irritation"

I've been trialling Rexona Clinical Protection Deodorant for a few weeks and I really like it. There are a few unusual features that make this product unique.

It's a cream!
This is quite weird at first, if you are used to sprays or roll-ons! The directions say to apply two clicks, but I did find myself applying about four, to get a good consistency and for ease of application.

48 Hour Protection
I haven't heard of that before! A lofty claim, but I actually did get great results, and even though it was hard to go 48 hours without reapplying, I did, and I wasn't smelling by the end of it. For some reason, the words 'Clinical Protection' made me feel safe. I'm sure this is highly psychological, and many tests were carried out before releasing this product to select the perfect words for maximum sales.

Apply before bed
For best results, Rexona advise to apply the cream to your underarns before bed, as the TRIsolid formula acclimates to your body as you sleep forming a deep layer of protection (err, ok!). This protection lasts through your shower and through the next day. How bizarre! But yes, it did work. I was confused as to whether or not to wash under my arms in the shower, though!

The fragrance is lovely and the results were pleasing. I'm pretty sure I didn't stink once during this trial! For me, the only negative is that at $13.99 (for 45 mls) it's a bit expensive. I don't think I'd use this as my everyday deodorant, but instead, have one on hand for times when it's extra important that I don't have BO. :)

Facebook Comping: Recent Wins!

Entering competitions on Facebook often becomes so disheartening, with the bitchiness, complaints, arguments, underhanded tactics and blatant cheating, that I often forget how lucrative it can be. The trick for me, and a lot of like-minded compers, is to steer clear of voting, or 'like' comps, where the winner is decided based on most votes or 'likes' for their photo, comment or entry. Many a furore has been caused when some entrants use vote exchange sites to gain votes from strangers, or even pay for votes or invent fake Facebook profiles to vote for themselves.

Needless to say vote comps are not worth it for me. I stick to randomly drawn comps, tagging comps or skill-based (eg 25 words-or-less) ones. I've decided not to be discouraged, after realising a few of my recent wins have all been from Facebook competitions. See below!

General Urban Rituelle goodness!

* Edge Pizza Party (15 pizzas delivered) from a 25 wol on Dominos FB page
* $200 Toys R Us voucher from a 25 wol comp on People Places FB page
* $100 Bunnings voucher randomly drawn from Expect A Star FB likers
* $100 Urban Rituelle voucher randomly drawn from Urban Rituelle FB likers
* $120 iTunes credit (total, won in seperate amounts on different days) from Name Your Combo instant win on Subway FB page

If you want to give Facebook comping a go, start off with the easy ones. The Subway instant win is still running (tip: enter earlier in the day rather than later), as is the Urban Rituelle one. Some other great pages that regularly run comps are Moxie, Australis and Famous Magazine (every Monday).

Good Luck!

August Empties

Well August is gone, and with it the products I finished during the month. Here are said products and mini reviews on each.

Garnier UltraLift Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream

I am so sad that I've finished this, because it worked extremely well on me, lifting my under-eye area and diminishing the look of my dark circles, and it's been discontinued. I was initially in disbelief when I couldn't find this product in my local Woolies, but after an extensive and exhausting search through pretty much every available outlet, I give up. Garnier initially replaced it with a double-ended tube of similar product (tried it, did not get the same results), then also released a roller-ball product. There is also a tub of Garnier Ultra-Lift Pro Deep Wrinkle Dual Eye but I don't get the same results from that either. Sucks!

Pantene 3 Minute Miracle Treatment

I hardly ever put a treatment through my hair, so this was a little bit of heaven for me! Sad, I know. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. My hair was soft, smooth and silky after using this and I'm definitely going to buy this after trying the sample.

Simple Refreshing Facial Wash Gel

I wasn't overly impressed with this gel, but it was inoffensive enough, being colour and perfume free and designed for sensitive skin. Satisfactory if you're into 'no frills' products.

Alpha-H Gentle Daily Exfoliant

I have previously reviewed this product here
. I would just like to add, that since writing my review, the results I experienced from using this exfoliant continued and increased. My skin became brighter and clearer with continued use. This is an expensive, but effective product. I am now using Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant instead (only because this ran out and I won the Dermalogica) :o)

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub

I absolutely hate this product with a passion. When I first used it, my face reacted badly, resulting in red, dry patches that took weeks to clear up. I left this alone for months, but recently decided to use it as a body scrub (sparingly and carefully!) as there was no way it was going anywhere near my face again. No bad reaction this time. This was just way too strong and stripped my skin dry (and I don't have sensitive skin, either). Hopefully Neutrogena don't make this any more, but if they do, proceed with caution.

Toni & Guy Volume Shampoo

This was on special so I thought I'd give it a go, considering how much I love the T&G Dry Shampoo. I didn't really notice any more volume after using this. Also the pump action dispenser is a bit of a pain in the arse in the shower. Meh.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush

This is a reliable dry shampoo in fun, cheerful packaging, with a lovely scent. Batiste is one of my regular dry shampoos. I love Original, Blush and Tropical.

**Garnier, Toni & Guy & Batiste were purchased by me, Pantene was a freebie in the mail, Simple I won, Alpha-H was provided for consideration, Neutrogena was provided to review on another site.**
