What's Your Number?

Starring: Anna Faris, Chris Evans, Blythe Danner, Ed Begley Jr.
Genre: Romantic Comedy

This underwhelming, predictable romantic comedy was just not my cup of tea. I found it largely unfunny, with only a handful of laugh out loud moments. It's not woeful or unwatchable, just not a terribly good film. You can tell who Ally, played by comedy actress Anna Faris (Scary Movie, The House Bunny) will end up with from very early on, and if you've seen the film's trailer, you'll have it sussed before the movie's even begun. That being said, Faris is charming and cute in her role, and Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger) as helpful neighbour Colin, who spends a considerable amount of screen time half naked, does well too.

Plot-wise (and it is ridiculous), Ally Darling reads a magazine article and immediately believes, because of the number of men she's slept with, she'll be alone forever unless she finds the best 'ex' of her life. Yep, that's what the actors are working with here. Honestly, the best parts are Star Trek's Zachary Quinto, brief though his appearance is, and Faris's breast implants, which alternated between mesmerising and utterly ridiculous, depending on her character's outfit. At one point, I reckon a Meatball Sub would have easily slotted between her bewbs. Sideways. My number is 5/10 for this halfway there 'comedy'.

Have you seen What's Your Number?
