Wordless Wednesday: When In Doubt, Bake Cupcakes.

Above: Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Icing and Blue and Green Dinosaur Sprinkles. I've yet to find a kid who doesn't love these.

Above: Lime Cupcakes with Tangy Lime Icing. I used Vanilla Cupcake packet mix and added lime zest to the batter, lime juice to the icing and garnished with more lime zest on top. These were delicious! You could also experiment with orange or lemon instead of lime.

What's your favourite cupcake flavour?

    1. I didn't know that, but I have a vague recollection of a nursery rhyme line "patty cake, patty cake, Bakers Man". Or something like that!

  6. I love lime flavoured things. I will have to try this - I make a nice plain vanilla cake - this would give it something more.

    1. Economical too, because you are using the lime juice and the zest. The whole lime is used! Yippee! :0

  8. Yummo. Over Easter I bought 6 cupcakes made by a friend raising money for Cancer research and they were decorated so beautifully with bunnies and eggs it almost made me cry to eat them. But I did, over 2 days. Chocolate cake remains my favourite. My oven is broken so can't bake anything yet but will keep lime cupcakes in mind for when I do.
