Review: Hair&Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment*

Over the weekend I tried the Hair&Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment* which was kindly sent to me from the Hair&Me team. I rarely use hair masks, because having fine hair that lacks body at the best of times, I'm always worried they will over-condition my hair and leave me with completely limp locks. But I decided to throw caution to the wind, and give this rejuvenating treatment a go. In the name of science.

Hair&Me say: 'Hair&Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment is 100% organic. It is an oil based product, using coconut, macadamia, jojoba & almond oil – designed to help repair, moisturise & strengthen your hair & scalp.'

I must say I love the packaging of this product! The packet is a gorgeous bright pink colour, and the resealable plastic screw-top lid was easy to open. Also, should you not use it all, you can simply screw the cap back on and save the rest for next time; no mess, no fuss, no leakages. I will easily get one more treatment out of my remaining product.

The product information and directions for use are stated clearly on the back of the packet, which is great. It's a good idea to actually read through the directions and usage tips, because some preparation is required. This is not like a face mask that you can slap on for ten minutes while you get ready for your shower then wash off!  Firstly, it's recommended you put the packet in the fridge for 30 minutes before use to harden the formula to a cream-like consistency, so it's easier to apply. Then you need to set aside some time, as this treatment works best if you leave it on for at least 45 minutes. You can even leave it on overnight if you're that way inclined! Personally I couldn't sleep with damp hair and I'd be worried about my pillowcase getting covered in it. I had a very relaxing 45 minute pink bubblebath (finally using my remaining Lush Candy Mountain Bubble Bar!), applying the Hair&Me Rejuvenation Treatment right at the start. It was easy to apply and smelled ah-mazing (think tropical island holiday and Pina Colada cocktails - must be the strong coconut aroma). After that, I had a shower and washed the mask out, shampooing and conditioning like normal. It took a while to get the coconutty treatment off my neck, and I'd recommend using a body exfoliant to aid the removal.

Overall, I'm pleased with the results. My hair was less tangly (although not completely tangle-free) and easier to comb through. Once it was dry you could definitely see and feel a difference. It looked healthier, felt a lot softer and was more moisturised and just looked really nourished and shiny, like it had a good feed! The ends don't look as ratty and the hairstyles I'm wearing in the two days since are looking better because the lengths of my hair are soft and coming together more. Unfortunately my hairdryer decided to shit itself a quarter of the way through blow-drying (I only got my fringe done) so I can't comment on volume, as I really need my hairdryer to create volume after washing my hair. I've since added my favourite Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume to the roots, and it's now looking as full as I can normally get it. I'm not going to be paranoid about hair masks after using this, as it didn't make my hair go limp and flat, even without the use of a hairdryer. I made an emergency trip to the shops and bought a new one in case you were wondering, because I cannot be without my hairdryer! (This is why I will never go camping, lol).

All products from this brand are vegan friendly and aren't tested on animals. Yay!

Hair&Me Hair Rejuvenation Treatment is $19.95 for 90ml

  3. Boo to your hairdryer! I've got fine hair but truckloads of it and it's wavy to add to the mix. I'm allllmost at a bob length, (although I keep pinning it back!) So I better get some masks happening to give it some love! :)

    1. I'm fighting the urge currently to cut mine to a long bob length (I get this urge annually). I know it would grow back but what if I hate it!

  10. Hair Mask sounds pretty good. I rarely use them myself because my hair is so fine. But I've had good luck with a few in the past. :-)
