Netflix Recommendation: Santa Clarita Diet

Being a huge Drew Barrymore fan, I was so excited to hear she was starring in a Netflix original series. When I read the plot involved eating human flesh, I was even more intrigued! This quirky horror-comedy series stars Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant as mild-mannered married real estate agents, Sheila and Joel, whose world is turned upside down when Sheila undergoes a transformation.

Well that's putting it mildly. You see, while Sheila feels better than ever, with an increased libido and the boldness she's always craved, she must eat people. So it's bit of a dilemma! This offbeat show is played way over the top, it's absolutely ridiculous, but hilarious and such a guilty pleasure! It's been criticized for the level of gore, and if you don't like blood this may not be for you, but I wasn't bothered, and I'm by no means a fan of the horror genre. I think it helps to be a Drew Barrymore fan, although I haven't seen Timothy Olyphant in much before and I found him endearing, too. There are also some great guest stars (I won't spoil who they are!). And I gotta say, I have serious hair envy; Drew's locks in this show are amazing!

I'm so excited that Santa Clarita Diet has just been renewed for a second season! Definitely give this offbeat series a go, guys, you won't regret it!
