Hi guys! How long has it been since I've done a celebrity fashion post? So long! This is a light-hearted look at celebrity styling at the recent Globes, not to be taken too seriously. I know I'm not a fashion critic, I'm a celebrity-loving gal sitting on her couch with a bag of popcorn and lot of opinions. With all the devastating bushfires currently burning across Australia, it can get overwhelming and depressing, so this is a fun one, an escape for a couple of minutes. What was your favourite lewk? Let me know in the comments!

I love this dress so much! It's bold, it's weird, it's basically J.Lo wrapped up as a late Christmas present, plus it features gold, what's not to love?
Sienna Miller

I don't even care that this is a bit casual for the GG's, it's sexy, fun and the fabric colours are cheerful and beautiful. If only a piece of string would hold my bewbs up!
Helen Mirren

This dress is perfect for her, is all class and, as an added bonus, looks comfy as!
Dakota Fanning

This is such a dreamy look and perfectly suits her, right down to the colour of this lovely dress. I can even look past the puffy sleeves which, unfortunately, were a theme of the night.

Now this is a dress! Cut and colour on point, I love it!
Renee Zellweger

Although plain, this is classic and elegant and the streamlined look is perfect for her.

All the yes with this red number! What an absolutely gorgeous frock.
Ana de Armas

I had to Google who she was (she was in the movie KNIVES OUT, which is brilliant by the way) but this sparkly dress is stunning! It's such a 'wow' look and is my fave dress from the night!

I don't like a single thing about this except for her body, which is admittedly, probably the point of the dress (or lack thereof) in the first place. The colour is horrific and it seems like a desperate scream for attention. Just no.

I actually really like this dress except for the weird blue thing on her shoulder which ruins the whole thing. It's just strange and wrong and shouldn't be there? Otherwise, on point.

This look is elegant AF and she obviously looks stunning but the colour of this is giving me Kermit vibes and not in a good way. The black bustier bit is hot though!
Cate Blanchett

I hate the puffy sleeves on this thing, and also what is that weird straight bit going up the middle of her chest? I am confused.
Jodie Comer

Oh boy, where to start with this look. The sleeves, again, are crazy (I'm really not understanding the puffy sleeve trend?) and the cut of this dress is ugly and unflattering.

Lucy Boynton

I mean it's not good is it. But is it 50 Shades of Wrong? I don't know. It's just so confronting on the old eyeballs. I can't even.
Anna Paquin

I actually like this busy dress but it seems all wrong for the Golden Globes. So I don't know! Brain cannot compute.
Taylor Swift

I have literally looked at her dress for ten minutes and I'm still up in the air? I do love her makeup though, such a great change from her usual red lip!
Zoe Kravitz

I both like this and don't? The pattern clash is kind of assaulting my eyes and yet she looks fabulous nonetheless haha.
Margot Robbie

Again, I like her outfit, but it seems a bit casual for the Globes, although the pretty bodice is snazzy. It's snazual. Haha.

What's your favourite outfit? Did you watch the Golden Globes?
I love Nicole Kidman and Ana de Armars dress. So elegant.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! Thanks for visiting :)
DeleteMy favourite is probably Ana de Armas just like you. For me though the reason is because if looks so beautiful PLUS it has pockets! That is an instant +10 points right there
ReplyDeleteIt's such a beautiful dress!
DeleteI didn't like Dakota Fanning's dress. It reminded me of the dollies with the tulle skirts old grannies used to hide their spare toilet paper rolls under!
ReplyDeleteHaha great that's all I can see now! LOL!
DeleteI actually liked Zoe Kravitz's outfit. Margot looked nice but a bit casual I think. I hadn't heard of her before but Ana de Armas looked stunning.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love Ana's dress so much! I actually saw Knives Out but didn't recognise her from it!
DeleteI'm a fan of the elegant looks too. Nicole and Helen are normally faves - but I like Cate too this round.
ReplyDeleteCate is normally on point, but this one was too strange for me! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteOh dear I do wonder sometimes if they actually have a large mirror to see theselves in first? Love the J-Lo, although I don't know how she'll eat her dinner with that bow! Love the Mirren red number although classy, it really looks a bit samey!! Dakota Fanning is a disaster in my view, looks like a faded Cinderella-type number. Ana de Armas gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteHaha didn't think how JLo would eat in that, but I think they'd mainly be drinking lol. Love Ana's dress, it's so sparkly and beautiful. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteThere are some real class acts among this lot arent they, although I often wonder how they sit, eat, and go to the loo in some of those dresses. As for the puffy sleeves, they're a no from me and Jodie Comer...seriously? She's gorgeous and that dress is just...no, I don't know where to start either!
ReplyDeleteha yes it would be difficult in some of these outfits! Yes, what was Jodie's Stylist thinking?
DeleteI love watching the red carpet (or the twitter feed, at least) during awards season. Hit or miss, I'm always such a fan of people showing up in something they love, celebrating another year doing a job that makes them happy. Can't argue with that!
ReplyDeleteExactly right! I mean who am I to judge lol? It's all a bit of fun, as long as they are happy who cares what anyone thinks anyway!
DeleteWhat a great idea to get away from the bushfires and all that has encompassed us for so long. These gowns..OMG.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining in the 2nd Life This Week in 2020 and next week the optional prompt is 3/51 Remember This 20.1.2020. I do hope to see you link up too. Denyse.
Thanks Denyse! :)
DeleteI didn't see any dresses this year that really wowed me, but it seems like they pull out the big guns for the Oscars. From this, though, I expect to see a lot of puffy dresses and some unique colors in the awards shows to come.
ReplyDeleteYes I can't wait to see the frocks at the Oscars! I'm hoping the puffy sleeves will be a no-show lol
DeleteI love this list. Lucy look a hot mess! She looks like she's wrapped in aluminum foil.
ReplyDeleteHaha yes it was definitely a strange look!
DeleteThis red versace dress is amazing. I want the same :)
