I'll admit I didn't know much about the cosmetics brand Barry M until quite recently, when I was sent a lovely package consisting of three Barry M Gelly Nail Paints* and a gorgeous Get Up & Glow palette*. Before that, I had only encountered Barry M through the Bloggers United AU Adelaide Event last year, as one of their nail paints had been included in our goodie bags as attendees.
Barry M is an affordable British colour cosmetics brand that is available exclusively in Big W stores. Founded in 1982 by Barry Mero, the brand is cruelty free, and boasts on trend colours at great prices ($6.95 - $24.95)
I thought I'd have a play with my Barry M goodies and show you a few manicures using the Gelly Nail Paint! These come in 21 different shades and have a really glossy finish. Also, I love that the colours are totally different from what I usually wear, so it really pushed my boundaries slicking these on. I'm glad I did, though!
Green Berry Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paint
I applied two coats of this bright minty green nail paint and didn't bother with a top coat as it was already pretty shiny.
Rose Hip and Huckleberry Hi Shine Gelly Nail Paint
Again, I applied two coats of these pretty pastel shades, with Huckleberry on the accent nail and Rose Hip on the other fingers. It was a bit patchy on the first coat, but thankfully the second coat applied evenly and smoothed everything out.
Get Up & Glow Bronzer, Blusher & Highlighter Palette
Here's a look at the gorgeous Get Up & Glow Bronzer, Blusher & Highlighter Palette. The bronzer is shimmery and is a bit too dark for my skintone, but I've been loving the blusher shades and have been using the top centre one every day. This multi-purpose palette would be amazing for trips away and retails for only $17.75 at Big W. It features a mirror within the lid, which closes securely with an inbuilt magnetic strip. The pink lightbulb design packaging is super-cute, too!

ReplyDeleteYes, it's such a lovely palette Claire!
DeleteI love the colour combo of the pink and mint green. So pretty! I remember i used to see this brand everywhere on ASOS a few years when I would shop on their website. Makes sense that it's a British brand! They look lovely and so affordable.
ReplyDeleteYeah the colours are really pretty and such a glossy finish too. Love that they are reasonably priced!
DeleteI like the pink hued nail polish. Definitely one I would wear!
ReplyDeleteYes it's so feminine and pretty! Thanks for reading Michelle :)
DeleteI need to try more from Barry M as I've only got a couple of their nail polishes. That bronzer will be way too dark for me. I wish brands didn't choose to make the bronzer the biggest item in a contour kit as it's always the thing I never use.
ReplyDeleteYes, the nail paints are really good, I'd love to try more colours from the range as well :)
DeleteI have the nail polish in the shade Rose Hip and I love it! It is currently painted on my toes and is such a soft, pretty pink! I will definitely have to try that palette though - it looks fabulous x
ReplyDeleteRose Hip would look lovely on the toenails, I might try that myself! Thanks for reading Marisa xx
DeleteOh my! That minty and blush pink color is so gorgeous! I should look for them here.. and those blushes form palette are beautiful. I really like them. :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle Morchella
Yeah so pretty, right? So glad I got to explore this brand!

ReplyDeleteThanks Denyse and thanks for the great linky, as usual :)
Deleteloving the nail shades and I got that palette for a friend of mine and she loves it!
ReplyDeletePam xo/ Pam Scalfi♥
Awesome! You're a lovely friend! xx
DeleteI didn't know these were cruelty free! Yay!
ReplyDeleteWe got this palette at the BUA Perth event but I've shied away because the bronzer is too dark for me too, but i'm definitely going to get it out and give the rest of the shades a go now.
Yeah you should give the blush shades a go, they are really flattering!

Yes I love it too and I'm impressed with how glossy the finish is, Ingrid!
DeleteThat minty green hue is gorgeous! I had a Barry M nail paint (one of the Aquarium ones), but when I painted it on my toes I realised that it wasn't the right shade for me. It's now in my giveaway basket.
ReplyDeleteOh that's a good idea! I definitely need to start a giveaway basket, I have so much extra stuff!
DeleteNever heard of this brand, but I have never really looked at the makeup section of BigW before either! I love those pastel shades in the polish. Better have a closer look while my nails are all the same length, don't you hate it when they all break at the same time. Yours look lovely x
ReplyDeleteThanks Alicia! Yes I have the same problem with nails breaking! Sometimes I can only photograph one hand because the other one has short broken nails, haha :)
DeleteHey Di, this polish formula looks so good - high gloss is essential criteria for me when buying nail colours. I also received a couple of products from their range at the Sydney Bloggers United event, and was so impressed I bought one of their lipsticks - loving it and will add more to my collection. SO affordable, excellent quality and easy to find at BigW xxx
ReplyDeleteYes I agree Kat, the gloss factor is awesome! I will definitely be hitting up Big W for some more shades when I next go into town! xx
DeleteI love the colours!
ReplyDeleteDoes the gel paint (polish) mean it comes off more easily. I'm prone to pick at polish and sometimes the whole layer just comes off... #teamlovinlife
Not that I'm aware of, Deborah! I just removed it as usual with nail polish remover and it came off easily though :)
DeleteI've never heard of the brand either! The nail colours are not my usual but I like them! My daughter would LOVE them so thank you for the gift idea. Loving the palette too! #TeamLovinLife
ReplyDeleteYes they aren't my usual type of colours either, but I'm enjoying stepping out of my comfort zone!
DeleteCute nail colours!
ReplyDeleteYeah they are pretty cute for something different!
DeleteSuch pretty pastels
ReplyDelete#TeamLovinLife
I don't normally wear pastels but these are pretty flattering!
DeleteHow gorgeous is the packaging!?! I must admit that I am yet to try my Barry M products (from the Bloggers United event), but maybe that will have to be my next manicure!
ReplyDeleteKez | acaciasdreams.com
Yes I'd love to see you do a Barry M mani Kez!
DeleteI love the Barry M polishes! I was so excited when big w started stocking them!! The bronzer/blush/highlight palette looks so nice too, I haven't seen it out yet but I really want to get it now hahaha
ReplyDeletefindyourownhope.blogspot.com.au
It's a great palette Susie! Thanks so much for reading! x
DeleteI haven't just in general worn nail polish in a long time but I do have quite a few Barry M polishes in my collection! That Rose Hip shade is really lovely and understated as well, it reminds me of another shade I have that's similar from Nails Inc :)
ReplyDeleteJulia // The Sunday Mode
Yes I'm loving Rose Hip, it's really lovely. Thanks for reading Julia!
