What do you get when you have insomnia and have exhausted all your Candy Crush turns? A blog post written at 2:30am, that's what! On the weekend I painted my nails, for the first time in weeks. It felt good to give my nails a break, but at the same time I feel so much more 'me' with a bit of colour on the claws!
This is Ohm My Magenta (380)* from the Sally Hansen Color Therapy range, which I was kindly sent at the end of last year, along with two other burgundy beauties, which I'll be trialling in due course. I was sure the 'm' in Ohm was a typo, but no, it's supposed to be there. This is a really flattering, sexy deep red with a hint of purple, and let me say, it's a confidence booster!
If you're not familiar with Sally Hansen's Color Therapy formula, it's best described as a polish that 'cares while you wear.' It contains three nourishing oils; acai, argan and evening primrose, that are absorbed into the nail plate while you wear. There's no need for a base coat. Just apply and your nails are treated to the goodness of the oils whilst looking vibrant with colour. Personally I love this formula; aside from the treatment benefits, it applies smoothly and easily, wears well and the colours are rich and opaque. For this mani, I've only applied one coat. Also, the flat brush makes application a breeze, as the bristles cover a lot of nail area, cutting down on the amount of strokes needed to completely cover a nail. Here's a feature I did on the Pampered In Pink mani from the Color Therapy range, if you're keen to see another shade!

DeleteThis lasted really well on you! The shade is beautiful but sadly the formula doesn't seem to agree with me!

I took these photos right after I applied it, but yeah I do like the formula. Sucks it doesn't agree with you!
DeleteThis is such a pretty shade. I tried this range and it was pretty good but the stick on the brush is so thick and white it is super awkward to dip back into the bottle. My fav polish is definitely Essie Gel Couture - it lasts forever!
ReplyDeleteOh I didn't notice that, but I just checked it out and yeah the stick nearly touches the sides doesn't it! I need to try more Essie shades!
DeleteIt's awesome, love the colour! I used to use a lot of Sally Hansen when I was younger, and should invest in more.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great brand, I love the Color Therapy and the Miracle Gel formulas!
DeleteI've got this on my toes right now! Love the colour!

Yes, it really makes me feel good!
DeleteIt is a great colour. I love it. I find any nail polish that takes more than 60 seconds to dry does not last well on my impatient fingers! Thanks for linking up for #lifethisweek 2/52. Next week's optional prompt is My Favourite Weather.
ReplyDeleteHaha, yeah I'm impatient too. I can't even be bothered with a top coat most of the time!
Deleteamazing how full coverage it is with just one coat!
ReplyDeletePam xo/ Pam Scalfi♥
Yes that's one of the things I love about it!
DeleteWhat a gorgeous shade. I love red nails and am always hunting out a hot new hue
ReplyDeleteYes it's a stunning shade, I love it!
DeleteThe best black nail polish I have ever discovered was a Sally Hansen - it covers so nicely and doesn't take a ton of coats to make it dark enough lol

It's such a great brand. I don't wear black often but this sounds like the ideal black polish!
