Griff The Invisible

Starring: Ryan Kwanten, Maeve Dermody, Marshall Napier.
Genre: Australian, Superhero, Comedy, Romance

True Blood's Ryan Kwanten stars as shy, awkward Office Worker by day, Superhero by night, Griff, in this charming Aussie flick. Griff literally blends in, seeming invisible (especially when wearing his yellow coat and black hat at the bus stop), yet stands out because he is different to others. He escapes his mundane life by becoming Griff The Invisible, a Superhero who brings justice to his local neighbourhood each night. His world is turned upside down when he meets Melody, a girl fascinated by science, who has her own idiosyncrasies. Needless to say, these two outsiders connect on a metaphysical level. Yeah, I’m not sure what that means, but it seems apt, given the scientific nature of their personalities.

I quite enjoyed this quaint, unassuming romantic comedy. It’s kind of weird, sweet and endearing, with fantastic central performances from Ryan Kwanten and Maeve Dermody. Expect the unexpected. Although don’t expect to see Ryan Kwanten’s naked arse, True Blood fans :)

What's your favourite Aussie flick?
