Here are the products I loved last month and continue to love now. Because it takes more than the mere passage of time to alter my passion for a product. Although I suspect now that the Maybelline The Blushed Nudes Palette is released, the normal Nudes may get tossed to the wayside. LOL. We'll see!
Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Natural Glow Foundation (Classic Ivory)
I'm so fussy with foundations! Or maybe I'm just really bad at finding good ones. Case in point: prior to buying this, I had one foundation that I wore daily, Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Ivory. That's what looked best on me, so I was sticking to it. Well, now I have a massive two foundations that I'm happy with, because my Stay Luminous one is a rare good find. My skin used to be oily, so I never used to be able to wear bases that gave a dewy finish, but now that its drier, I can totally get away with a foundation like this, without resembling an oil slick after a few hours. I love the formula; it almost goes on like a nice moisturiser, and it blends really easily. Because it's so easy to apply I reach for it when I'm in a hurry, as it takes less time to blend in than my Revlon Colorstay.
Rimmel ColourPrecise Eyeliner (Black)*
I was sent a black and a white one of these, and whilst the white one is not my cup of tea, the black one is coming in very handy. I'm very weird about my eyeliner, and still use Maybelline Masterliner for the majority of my line, but I've switched to using the Rimmel ColourPrecise for my wings. Previously I flicked my wings with the Master Graphic sharpie-like liner, but the ColourPrecise is, well, more precise! The tip is finer and tapered and it's also flexible, so it's easier to get a finer wing flick happening. I'm quite heavy-handed with my eyeliner, so anything that's going to make my look more refined has the thumbs up from me!
Perricone MD Advanced Eye Area Therapy
I fell in love with this eye cream ever since trialling a free sample of it from Mecca. In effectiveness, it's second only to my Holy Grail, the La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift. But that's, like $400 for 20 ml which is why I only have samples of it! This Perricone MD one is much more affordable and has really improved my under eye area. It's firmer, smoother and (when I'm not laughing) you can barely see my fine lines. I've been using this morning and night, and will continue to do so, because I really love what it does for me.
Matrix Biolage Waterless Clean & Full Dry Shampoo*
I'm such a heavy user of dry shampoo, it's not even funny. I'm a Mother, so I'm busy a lot, and don't freak, but I only wash my hair once a week. It doesn't get super oily or anything, trust me if it was gross, I'd up it to twice a week, lol. Anyway, I've used a lot of different dry shampoos in my time, and this Biolage one is pretty damn good! It sprays a super-fine mist that doesn't go white on the hair, and it cleans up the roots nicely, whilst imparting a good amount of volume when you rub it in. And I'm always after volume, because my hair is so fine and lank without product. This does smell a bit funny, but I totally forgive it that, given the results this dry shampoo gives.
Maybelline The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette
Do you ever get intimidated by expensive, hyped-up palettes? I bought the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette, but I'm kind of a bit scared of it? Like, what do I do? It's so professional, all the makeup gurus are using it! Aargh! Well the Maybelline The Nudes palette is just easy, fuss-free and completely non-intimidating. I use it if I'm in a rush because you can't really stuff up with it. I enjoy the neutral, earthy shades, I know what I'm doing and it's just not scary, you know?

Yes, isn't is amazing! I just saw the Blushed Nudes one instore yesterday (but it wasn't on sale so I didn't buy it lol). :)
DeleteI love the sound of the eye liner. I'm particular about what I use too but I reckon I could give that a shot. I also am all about the nudes. That pallet looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's such a versatile palette and the eyeliner is really great. Thanks for reading Vicki! :)
DeleteLovely selection of THINGS as usual! I'm always keen to hear about a good liquid liner!
ReplyDeleteThanks Beth! I'm so fussy with my eyeliners (and my foundation, lol).
DeleteIt's the one place that I cannot use my body scrub, under the eyes, so thanks for the tip about the Perricone MD - might need to investigate!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's such a delicate area and where we show the first signs of ageing. Thanks for reading!
DeleteWill have to try the eyeliner tips! Thanks Anne
ReplyDeleteNo worries, thanks for dropping by Anne! :)
DeleteThe nudes palette is great for every-day and night-time use. :) I am glad to hear you like the eyeliner from rimmel. I bought mine but still haven't used it as i'm scared of eyeliner! :P haha

Liquid eyeliner can definitely be intimidating. You have to show it who's boss as I've heard it can smell our fear. LOL. xx
DeleteI also like the Revlon colour stay for foundation in ivory too (we're twins!) but it's good to have a recommendation of another product that's just as good. I'll keep my eye out for than one next time I'm on the hunt for foundation - thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHaha, twinsies! Yeah if we're the same colouring, I find the Covergirl Stay Luminous in Classic Ivory is slightly more yellow-toned however it's still a very good colour match for us pale girls :)
DeleteThe Nudes is awesome! I do love that particular palette - it's a daily thing for me!
ReplyDeleteYes me too! It's so versatile and easy to use :)
DeleteDr. Perricone! I use to use that brands No Foundation Foundation. And I loved it! What made me stop using that?! lol I need to get me some more of it. And I love dry shampoo! I wish I could go as long as a week without washing my hair. I wash every other day. I use Dove's dry shampoo, which works well, and doesn't have too strong of a smell.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the No Foundation Foundation by Perricone MD, but am interested! Ha yeah I feel weird only washing once a week, but my hair doesn't get oily really (and I'm lazy!) lol.
DeleteHmmm, I'm a Revlon Colorstay girl too Di, but I might have to give the Covergirl Outlast Stay Luminous Foundation a try! Do you know where Perricome MD products are sold? Any of the major pharmacies? I've never seen them before and the eye therapy sounds lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Lyndall, yes you can buy Perricone MD products at Mecca Cosmetica and Mecca Maxima and sometimes Catch of the Day have them at a huge discount, because they have a shorter expiry date :)
DeleteI get intimidated by the high end palettes too! Glad you're loving the Maybelline one. There's a rose themed one out now in Australia and I'm seriously tempted
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up re the Rimmel eyeliner. I'm heavy handed with mine as well.
SSG xxx
Yes the Blushed Nudes one, I'm interested in that too. It looks so pretty! xxx
DeleteOh I needed that dry shampoo suggestion a week ago. I'm going to hospital for a few days next week (no biggie just minor surgery) and my mother decided I should have a dry shampoo and gave me one she has. I'm not sure what it's like so will keep this one in mind for next time!
ReplyDeleteDry shampoo is great for in hospital to freshen up. I hope your surgery goes smoothly Deb! :)
DeleteHmmmm...white eyeliner...I've seen some tutorials on FB and it looks awesome. Just not sure if I could pull it off. As for dry shampoo, I'm always in search for a good one...especially one that will give me volume.
ReplyDeleteI definitely can't pull white eyeliner off. For volume, Batiste Dry Shampoo XXL Volume is another good one, too :)
DeleteAny foundation with "natural glow" written on it has me handing over the cash!
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes we all want a natural glow, sounds so ideal, lol.
DeleteLove the colors on the palette! I love eyeliners!
ReplyDeleteYeah the eyeshadow shades are so easy to work with. Love a nude eye!
DeleteIt's great to have access to such affordable makeup choices that are also well regarded. Something for everyone! Gorgeous palette. Thanks for joining the Lovin' Life Linky!
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, I'm lovin' the Lovin' Life Linky! x
DeleteAmazing favourites post! I love the sound of the Perricone MD Advanced Eye Area Therapy - I have been trying new eye creams and serums lately in the hope to fight the signs of aging so I am definitely going to give this a try! Thanks :) xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Marisa! I'm always trying out different anti-aging eye creams and serums too, it's one of my favourite things to do, haha. The Advanced Eye Area Therapy works really well. xx
DeleteI really need to invest in that nude pallette. It does look very non-threatening. What do you do with white eyeliner? Is it for the inner part of your eye? Haven't used it before and not sure that I would either.
ReplyDeleteYou could do a statement eye (top eyeliner), use it on the bottom waterline I guess (carefully) or yeah, inner corner. None of those things are in my comfort zone, but luckily the black one is!
DeleteHaven't touched my Nudes palette in awhile! I should bring it out to play! Trangles xoxo
ReplyDeletewww.doaner-fide.com
Yes, it's a good'un! xx
DeleteI LOVE my precise liner formula but I HATE the spongey tip applicator - die die die!
ReplyDeleteLily not Louise
LOL! Maybe cos I just use it for my wings it's good for me? I use a different eyeliner for the rest of my eyes, cos I'm weird like that. Haha.
DeleteI find foundations hard to buy too! At least there's one skincare benefit to ageing ie not having as oily skin! I can't think of too many other skincare benefits - lol! I'll have to try that Covergirl foundation too!
ReplyDeleteHaha yes about the ONLY benefit of ageing I think!
DeleteThe Maybelline nude palette are definitely a great palette! Also good for travelling because it is so compact x
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! I took it to Melbourne with me and used it every day :)
DeleteYou've got me all excited to try all of these Di, especially that Perricone eye stuff - could do with a whole heap of smoothing and firming lol xxx
ReplyDeleteYou know me, I'm always on the search for amazing eye creams. Hope you love it if you do give it a go! xx
DeleteLove that nude palette - I'm sure it's so versatile #lovinlife
ReplyDeleteIt's SO versatile Stephanie, I love it! Thanks for reading :)
DeleteUmmm need to try that foundation now! xx
